The decision-making process is based on factual information. Accurate data collection and analysis results in improved decision making. In the healthcare sector, data collection is essential in solving local administrative issues, determining staff workloads, profit maximization of a medical organization, and the worldwide challenges facing humanity, for instance, predicting epidemics and combating prevailing diseases more proficiently ( Dickinson et al.,2019).

An example of a hypothetical situation is where a healthcare organization ought to collect information about patient health from various sources. These include analyzing the test results, clinical observation, diagnoses, existing health problems, and the most common type of medication given to patients. The hospital can gather medical information by an integrated customer relationship management system to create and handle the general information, to provide reports, and to analyze the various issues (Dickinson et al., 2019). This system contains a mobile application software that links doctors' and patients' collective admittance data from numerous databases.

The data collected can establish linkage between the primarily different symptoms, give an accurate diagnosis, and offer adequate treatment. The data can also assist the health organization in generating a general view of patients, distinguishing treatment, improving treatment techniques, advancing communication amidst healthcare providers, and promote enhanced health results ( Tao et al., 2020). Besides, data collected from a large number of patients enhances the creation of a continually growing database that can be analyzed by artificial intelligence algorithms to identify dependencies between diseases and metrics.

Data collection also enables clinicians to be able to diagnose diseases earlier and offer the best treatment ( Johnson et al., 2020). Nurses can apply critical thinking to solve patients' problems and boost their creativity in the decision-making process. In the above scenario, nurses can use their critical reasoning to determine the most effective way that can be used to combat the spread of diseases in the healthcare sector.

In conclusion, data collection in a health organization is crucial as it enables doctors to develop new ways to diagnose and predict the chance of occurrence of illness and assist them in identifying ways in which they can improve the clinical care.
