There has been no scientific evidence that points to the link between the use of e-cigarettes and the quittance of smoking for the members of the society with addiction. Current research in the same suggests that the adults who turned to e-cigarettes to help them quit the habit have resulted in more smoking among them. The e-cigarettes, contrary to public opinion, have also been regarded as unsafe for consumers with the various combinations of heavy metals that could lead to poisoning. In as much as it is believed that the e-cigarettes have a lower nicotine content than the other cigarettes, the level is still strong enough to lead to addiction to the drug.

However, the introduction of the e-cigarettes in the market has changed the societal attitude towards smoking that has led to what can be deemed as allowing children to smoke. Extensive research on the e-cigarettes indicates that they have harmful substances that would detriment the health of the children. They also contain nicotine, and even though the substance is in low levels, it still contributes to the rise in addiction to the smoking habits. Advertisements for the e-cigarettes have portrayed them as fir for consumption among the young adults. The flavors that the e-cigarettes have contributes to the overconsumption of the substances by the children which detriments their health further.
