The nation has lost an iconic figure who was not only a lawyer versed with immense legal knowledge but a leader who was keen on steering the nation in the right direction. In his speech on the floor of the Senate on 21 September 2020, Senator McConnell noted that Justice Ginsburg was 'a spirited, powerful, and historic champion for American women.’' She was determined to see that the nation transcended both legal and philosophical structures that have continued to advance discrimination against women.

Justice Ginsburg is a testament to sheer will and determination to fight label tags associated with one's ethnicity and social class. Senator McConnell highlighted that Justice Ginsburg managed to climb from a middle-class Jewish family "into the most rarefied air of law and government," a quest that was not easy. Justice Ginsburg had to constantly deal with numerous sexist obstacles, making her an inspiration to others with a better country's dreams.

The Senate Majority Leader could not help but view Justice Ginsburg as a woman who loved the law and applied it to address the larger society's needs. Her love for Americans is evidenced by the fact that she continued working despite facing severe and multiple illnesses. Senator McConnell was astonished by this kind of determination that he felt that her death should be viewed as a 'heroic climax' as opposed to being just another chapter in an individual's life.

Justice Ginsburg may have been an exceptional legal expert, but this did not prevent her from having healthy cordial relationships with her colleagues. In his speech, Senator McConnell established that Justice Ginsburg was the late Justice Scalia's friend despite having different ideologies. The two 'rarely sat on the same side of a high-profile decision,' but they brought comity and laughter in justice halls.

Political ideologies are crucial in paving the direction in which a country will move depending on the weight associate with the perspectives. Justice Ginsburg was a liberal who climbed mountains and 'blazed a trail' to ensure that the Supreme Court was neutral. Senator McConnell endeavored to 'clear the cobwebs of prejudice' by opening professional doors for the underrepresented groups and communities. In particular, Justice Ginsburg helped women rebuild their lives and enrich society through professional work. Ginsburg's death is not the end but the beginning of her legacy with McConnell noting that her life's work will 'enlighten scholars and students for generations.'

Senator McConnell led the US Senator in condoling with Justice Ginsburg's family, friends, colleagues, and all Americans. According to McConnell, the Senate is praying for Jane and James, Ginsburg children and grandchildren, and a great-granddaughter. At the same time, McConnell did not forget Justice Ginsburg's fellow Justices and law clerks who will feel the gap left behind. These individuals and Americans could do all that these individuals could do to relish in the memories of a legal giant whose legacy will continue for generations to come.
