In this paper, I selected Option B: an effectively performing team. The team consists of 16 individuals with the responsibility of zonal marketing for Huawei mobile technologies (digital devices such as phones). The reason for choosing this team is their high success in marketing, in a new market environment consisting of the multi-cultural population and covering a great zone (district). The team also consist of members from different cultures and ethnic groups. According to the course, team leadership is key in maintaining the integrity and cohesion of a particular group. In this case, a single individual ensures that the other 15 members are actively involved in their daily responsibilities and solving conflicts which may arise.
Managing a culturally diverse team which is deployed in a multi-cultural environment is a great task requiring cultural understanding, integration, conflict prevention and resolution alongside developing efficient communication (Nederveen Knippenberg & Van, 2013). According to my findings, the leader ensures that the group maintains effective communication and cooperation built from team-work relationships they have integrated amongst themselves. According to Colenso (2012), efficient planning is a great consideration in predicting results, as learnt from the team, they integrated strategic planning methods which are goal-oriented and milestone-based and they actively incorporated every member in the processes. The planning process also lays out individual responsibilities while rolling out training manuals and procedures to be used in ensuring quality skills to every team member (Salas & Rosen, 2013).

Work ethics is also an integral component of their success, as each member has to maintain the right attitudes and behavior when interacting with colleagues and customers. Behavior is intrinsically motivated and collective as they are all aimed at similar goals and targets. This creates trust among the team members regardless of the risks involved, leading to both team and customer confidence. Teams must ensure they have well planned and aligned structures of work which are flexible and well organized in order to enhance productivity with leaders incorporating outstanding managerial and leadership skills. Therefore, team planning and management are the main components of a high performing team reinforced by behavior and cultural organization (Iglesias, Sauquet & Montaña, 2011).
