Developing safety and security procedures in the aviation industry is important in promoting the safety of travelers, employees, and the entire aviation fraternity. Both the book and the article outline the benefits of having safety and security procedures. According to the book, the aviation industry has a moral and legal responsibility to ensure employees' security, the customers, and the entire airspace community (Coulby et al., 2015, p. 238). The authors argue that security training should be provided to employees, and strict security procedures should be provided. Similarly, the Aviation Week article outlined that safety measures should be prioritized in aviation, especially at a time like now when there is COVID-19, a global pandemic (Commercial Aviation, 2021, p. 59). The article’s author argues that the aviation market might drop some of the safety measures while other precautions such as mask-wearing might remain a common precaution since some markets like Europe and the U.S are planning to resume international travel. The aviation markets improved safety measures after the 9/11 safety conditions to adhere to the SMS. Just like the 9/11 aftermath rules, the international aviation markets are likely to observe continuous safety measures devised during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Improving safety management techniques control anticipated future risks. Besides, the Safety Management Systems’ culture improves providing an efficient customer service system. Developing and improving safety management in the aviation market will help me meet ethical principles and promote the safety of passengers and my colleagues. Techniques outlined in the book and the article will help me boost the operational structure and build a safety-driven environment, which promotes customer and employee satisfaction. Providing safety measures to customers and employees makes the foundation of all operational activities, ensuring proper delivery of ethical responsibilities (Coulby et al., 2015, p. 239). With the current health challenges trending globally, operational restructuring will provide new health technologies and safety measures in the future. The aviation industry is planning to introduce more efficient health precautions with time. With much uncertainty in the future, more comprehensive safety techniques will be employed to increase customer and employees’ safety. Developing these measures will improve profitability to organizations as customers will be more satisfied when they know that they are safe. Therefore, developing proper safety measures and improving operational structure will attract more customers hence providing more future business benefits.
