The vital role of a nurse is to encourage and care for people of all ethnic groups and religious upbringings and advocate them through health and sickness. Nevertheless, many other roles of a nurse include recording medical history and symptoms, monitor health and record signs, do diagnostic tests, inform patients about management of sickness, and among other responsibilities. Nurses are involved in advocating for health and happiness of patient as they administer medications to the patient (Jeffs, Saragosa, Law, Kuluski, Espin, Parker, & Collins, 2018). This current paper is going to explore the roles of nurses and give instances of microagression among nurses.

A nurse cares for the patient and helps them to handle physical needs, manage illnesses, as well deal with health conditions. To carry out this responsibility, the nurses must observe and oversee the patient, documenting any pertinent information to help in making decisions of treatment ( Tomiyama , 2016). In the entire process of treatment, the nurses monitors the progress of the patient and carry out this role in the best interests of the patient.

The nurse advocate for the best interests of the patients and preserve his dignity in the entire period of treatment. The nurse would make the best suggestions in the treatment process and she or he collaborate with other health practitioners. This is critical, as patients are unable to understand medical circumstances when they are unwell. The nurse also plans the care of the patients, as decision-making is needed in the treatment process (Jeffs et al., 2018). There are several instances of microagressions like a nurse asking a patient from a specific origin where he is asking from. The nurse can also hide her purse when a black patient is around, which can be offensive. A nurse may also show microagression by selectively attending to some patients in preference to others.

In conclusion, the nurse should monitor the progress of the patient until he or she becomes well. During this treatment process, the nurse supports the patient and promote their best interests, particularly when treatment verdicts have to be made. It would be important for the nurse to collaborate with other health practitioners to enable the best patient health results.
