Given the context presented in the YouTube video, it is quite imperative to note that the thoughts and perception of the victims, especially the disabled persons, plays an essential role in redefining their positivistic view of life. It is evident that the majority of the human populations always consider disable people as incapable of exploring and finding their purpose in life (Geurts & Komabu-Pomeyie, 2016). For instance, I have a personal experience with the context of stereotyping the disable persons. My cousin happens to be disabled and has never managed to walk in his entire life. My friends and the public have always sympathized with him by offering help and financial assistance in numerous circumstances just because he is a disabled person.

The YouTube video on disability would amicably reshape the thoughts and mindset of people regarding how they respond and perceive the disable persons. Disable people have the requisite potential to contribute to resolving societal problems just like any other normal human being (YouTube Video, 2017, Min 1-3). The task is to help them find their potential and explore it, but not to sympathize or offer financial assistance on the basis that they are disable.

The hardest part of responding to a person with disability as a person rather than as a disability is entirely based on the mindset of the disabled person. Disable persons who understand their potential and purpose in life would be easier to interact with than others who are misguided based on how the society perceives their competence and capability to resolve problems in real-life scenarios (YouTube Video, 2017, Min 1-3).

The one-step that I recommend to others to avoid 'othering' disable persons is to embrace the culture of human functioning that dwells on developmental psychology and cognitive capability of a person. The video changed my core of understanding based on the fact that disability should not always be considered as an inability to handle and manage issues in life.

The words spoken by the victims of disability changed my core understanding of stereotype based on the fact that the attention needs to be awarded the action and mindset of the disabled person, but not their images (YouTube Video, 2017, Min 1-3). Ultimately, disable persons who understand their potential and take their condition in positive ways stand a better chance of living a quality lifestyle just like the perceived normal human beings.
