Lobbying in the U.S has been a common phenomenon with lobbyists spending millions of dollars to influence their preferences in most cases involving legal and legislative issues. Health care industry has also not been left behind among the institutions which take part in lobbying. The impact of lobbying in the healthcare sector has seen the increase in funding of health care by the federal government according to Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy (Grim & Blumenthal, 2015). This would also decrease corruption or appearance of corruption as the funding would be channeled to independent bodies which would not be politically influenced on their expenditure, thus leading to an improvement in the health care delivery across Washington.

Various sectors across the U.S take part in lobbying each year to influence the decisions by Congress during lawmaking. It is noted that issues outside public interest also participates in this act. For instance, in 2013, American Airlines gave over 200,000 to gain back-up from Congress in their operations (Grim & Blumenthal, 2015). In return, the Congress formulates laws which are favorable to the organization in question, or sometimes stop enacting a bill which would undermine the lobbyists; interests. Some of the monies received for lobbying goes to the political action committee (PAC) which also goes into lobbying.
