American culture is characterized by its high levels of diversity whereby all its aspects are intertwined between subcultures of distinct people in the country. Cultural diversity enables Americans to recognize, understand, and respect cultures that belong to other Americans. The US, as a culturally diverse society, contains more than five racial divides that have distinct cultures and subcultures. Native Hawaiian, American Indians, White Americans, Alaska Natives, and African Americans are the most common types of racial categories. These categories have specific cultures, which are further subdivided into subcultures. Despite having all these cultural divides, the American society has managed to live in harmony through respect and understanding for other cultures.
Various films have been produced to show the importance of American cultural diversity. For instance, “Orange is the New Black” by director Jenji Leslie Kohan is an American drama-comedy TV series that shows how diversity is essential in the American context. The film shows the cultural diversity of black people, economy classes, and gender responsibilities in the American culture ( Fields, 2020) . For instance, both white and black prisoners combine to protest against the death of a black inmate at the hands of a white guard. In essence, the film shows how combined efforts by the culturally diverse society can lead to the creation of a better country.

“Little Caesar” by Mervyn LeRoy, is a 1931 American crime movie that shows the “gangster” nature of American films in the 1930s.
