Introduction

Doctor Stephen Strange, also known as Dr. Strange, is a fictitious character who appears in Marvel Comics' American comic books. The character was created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko and originally featured in Strange Tales - Volume One. Doctor Strange is the Sorcerer Supreme, the world's foremost protector against mystical and magical perils. Strange was developed during the Geometric Period of Comic Books to bring a fresh kind of character and themes of mystical to Marvel Comics, inspired by stories of supernatural powers and modeled on Chandu the Sorcerer by Harry A. Earnshaw and Ray R. Morgan as denoted by Cho & Johnson,(2020) . The protagonist begins as a gifted but arrogant surgeon who lost his ability to operate after a vehicle accident permanently destroys his hands. He comes across the Ancient One, the Wizard Supreme, while exploring the globe for the cure. Strange becomes his pupil, learning both the supernatural and martial arts. He gathers a collection of magical items, along with the powerful Eye of Agamotto and the Shroud of Levitation, and moves inside the Sanctum Sanctorum, a house in Washington Heights, New York City. Strange takes up the crown of Sorcerer Supreme and saves the universe with the help of his buddy and valet Wong. The paper aims to investigate Does a genre exists in the Doctor Strange artifact. Also, the study will venture into the main features of the genre that exist in the selected artifact.

Literature review

Doctor Strange is a professional magician who derives his abilities from mystical beings such as Watoomb, Ikonn, Raggadorr Oshtur, Agamotto, and, Cyttorak who donate their powers to magic. Doctor Strange also has mystical artifacts such as the Cloak of Levitation, which allows him to fly. Also, he has the Eye of Agamotto, an amethyst ring whose beam is used to counteract evil magic; the Book of the Vishanti, a philosopher's stone containing vast knowledge of white magic; and the Amulet of Agamotto, a fortune-teller used for telepathy as Drescher & Fors,(2018) alludes. Strange is skilled in multiple martial arts disciplines, notably judo, and has demonstrated expertise with various magically produced weapons, especially axes and swords. Strange had a successful career as a neurosurgeon until nerve injury caused him to lose control of his hands. Eternity, the consciousness of the Marvel Cinematic universe, calls Doctor Strange "the strongest magician in the multiverse" and "far more powerful than any of your fellow-creatures."( Hai-hua,2021). Starting with the 1973 plot wherein the Ancient One passes on, he is known as Sorcerer Supreme, and he has held the title ever since, except for a brief period from 1992 to 1995.

García Lazo et al., (2020) denoted that Doctor Strange is important to work since it attempts to depict the current state of civilization. It depicts how humans process information and use it to make various judgments. The topic is important because it explains how technology innovations are used and how they affect people. The Handbook of the Vishanti is the richest viable cause of white magical knowledge on the Planet, and it is said to have been written by anonymous authors. The book was closely associated with Doctor Strange. The Book of the Vishanti is incorruptible and contains protective magic spells. The Darkhold, on the other hand, is invincible and houses all of the Marvel Universe's understanding of supernatural powers. Single chapters of either book could be destroyed, but the rebalancing spell in the other manuscript must be ruined as well to preserve the magical equilibrium. The Vishanti, a group of three powerful supernatural entities known as Agamotto, Oshtur, and Hoggoth, must enable the charm to be broken. Even though the book is a kind tome of enchantment, the spells contained therein can be harmful if used incorrectly. These mythical powers were was demonstrated when a younger, unskilled Strange attempted to resurrect his deceased brother Victor using the Handbook of the Vishanti. Still, the Necromantic Verses spell forced Victor to turn into the vampire Baron Crimson decades later. The handbook offers information about the people and events in addition to spells and mystical wisdom. Although the book was written hundreds of years ago, it is uncertain how it can retain current and recent knowledge. Varna, an Atlantean sorcerer who lived approximately 18,500 BC, was the first documented owner of the manuscript as denoted by Herrmann,(2018).

The Babylonian deity Marduk Kurios was the next documented possessor. A griffin was assigned to guard the Book by Marduk. The Antiquity One, a sorcerer, journeyed back in time to around 4000 BC and destroyed the griffin before returning to the 19th and 20th centuries. Doctor Strange wears the Garment of Levitation, which is a powerful mystical shroud( Ho,2017). In the live-action film Doctor Strange, the artifact is referred to as a relic. The main purpose of the cloak is to allow the bearer to levitate and hover. Doctor Strange donned two unique cloaks gifted to him by his master, the Ancient One: a sweeping, royal blue cloak with minor talents and spells interwoven into it, and a subsequent, red garment that Strange is most often seen sporting.

During his tenure as Sorcerer Superior of the Earthly reality, Agamotto, a strong mystic creature one of Doctor Strange's three Vishanti, has used the Eye. Some believe Agamotto rediscovered it among the oceans and stars, where it had been drifting for a long time( Nishime,2017). Others suggest it was constructed by Agamotto personally, which makes sense given the Eye's abilities and the All- Seeing's. Strange could see through all camouflage and deception, witness past occurrences, and track either intangible and corporeal creatures by their mental or magical discharges using the Eye, weapons of wisdom that may emit a tremendous mystical light. Demons, monsters, undead creatures, dark extra-dimensional creatures, and even adequately corrupt humanoid practitioners of the Dark Powers are all weakened by the light emitted by the Eye. Strange may use it to peer into other people's minds, project a formidable mystic armor, and open gateways to other worlds as denoted by Nishime,(2017).

Strange was using the illumination of the Eyeball to hoist objects as huge as the Hulk and Master Xavier plus his wheelchairs combination, or the Thing, with relatively little effort while concurrently magically commanding the cloak to fly oneself, carrying a hammer. As Strange did to resist Thanos' menace, the Eye of Agamotto can transfer a collection of dozens of beings of various levels and types of power to another spot within the realm. The 'Orb 'of Agamotto is Doctor Strange's other supernatural possession, in addition to the Eye of Agamotto. It's a sophisticated divination crystal ball, empowered by the Agamotto entity, that can identify the usage of magic anywhere on the Planet, giving Strange geo location and a vision. The Eye can also be used to keep an eye on the defenses that the three storm shield have built to defend the worlds they've created. Agamotto becomes Strange's greatest source of information if he is within the Orb. The Orb of Agamotto is narratively stored very adjacent to the Eye of Agamotto in Doctor Strange. The Orb was first glimpsed in Odin's Vault as part of the launch for 2011's Thor( Irwin,2018).  The Orb is a way to keep track of the three sanctums' mystical fortifications that protect the globe. Although it appears in Doctor Strange, it was not included in the film, except perhaps in the closing credits when Doctor Strange recognizes an Asgardian outsider returning to New York.

Wong is shown rallying troops at the Hong Kong Fortress near the end of the film. Wong is stabbed, still clutching a strange-looking dual-edged hilt before Strange can erase the harm done by Kaecilius' gang. The Wand of Watoomb is one of several artifacts in the comic that can absorb mystical energy and repurpose it to heal the bearer, create a protective shield, or even fire destructive blasts. Even though we never get to witness the relic in action, it is said to be one of six. In Brian Michael Bendis' Indomitable Iron Man, the Sword of Watoomb was recently seen in the custody of Dr. Strange( Rickels, 2020).  The Ebony Blade, the armament of the D-string Avengers known as the Black Knights, is a meteor-cut blade created by Merlin for Sir Percival of Scandanavia, the first 'Black Knight.' It can cut any metal save tungsten alloy, and it once shredded Iron Man's armor-like spaghetti. The sword was cursed as a result of Percy's bloodlust. The Blade was handed down down the decades until Sir Percy's current descendant, Dane Whitman, resurrected the Black Knight cloak with the sword. The Book of Demonicus is a book written by Demonicus. Oster's Tome is a collection of Oshtur's writings. Cagliostro's Book is a book written by Cagliostro. Doctor Strange has a vast collection of magical books. His mystical card collection once contained the most heinous book in the Marvel Cinematic universe. Many of the classics have encountered the Dark hold, from Merlin to Blade, Spider-Man, and Barbarian the Conqueror. The Ancient God Cthon wrote the impenetrable Dark hold to release centuries of ancient knowledge on the globe, and it is credited with inventing pretty much every creature you can think of, include Dracula, vampires, and monsters,

The Crimson Bands of Cyttorak are effectively magical shackles that intimidate the recipient in unbreakable mystic energies and are a spell emanating from the mighty being Cyttorak, who was both a deity a demon venerated on Earth before he could be expelled to the Crimson Cosmos. Doctor Strange used the Crimson Bands upon Mordo in Strange Tales. Of one of the most memorable scenes in Doctor Strange, Strange employs the Crimson Bracelets to confine Kaecilius. Nothing about the Grandmaster of the Mystic Arts, like remarkably much everything else, is as it seems. Doctor Strange's sash has maintained seasonably in style throughout his debut in 1963, although most other character features have been transformed in some shape or another( Kohm, & Walby,2021). The Sorcerer Supreme wields his sash the same way Spider-Man wields his webs, and Batman wields his Batarangs. Sashes, for the most part, are a worthless adornment. They don't keep pants in place, they look like they're made on a pirate, and their tails are perfect for hooking. The magical Sash of Doctor Strange, on the other hand, may extend ten times its regular length or be used to grab far distant objects. Nevertheless, he had a few tricks up his sleeve, just like any professional magician ( Lazo et al., 2020) When the Sorcerer Supreme sensed a new threat developing, he'd unconsciously consult his Tarot Deck to identify which avengers would be best suited to deal with it. Eventually, the day was averted, everyone went their ways, and the tarot chose a new, perfectly matched team for the next expedition.

Namor is susceptible to oxygen mismatches due to his hybrid nature as a half-humanoid, half-Atlantean leprechaun who spends too much time in either air and water. Manic-depressive mood fluctuations may result as a result of this. The result is an anger that even the Hulk considers excessive, a terrible attribute for one of the world's most powerful superpowers. That's why it's a beneficial move. Doctor Strange had the strangely useful Talisman of Abraxas on standby at one point. As we learned in Marvel Team-Up, this amulet possesses a remarkable ability to calm Namor's explosive personality as denoted by McAuliffe, (2020). Doctor Strange could not employ his customary sorcery powers; thus, he relied on more standard approaches to defeat his foes. Fortunately, some of his goods were astrally transferred into the park and devoured by the Een'Gawori. He discovered the long-forgotten Sword of Angarrumus within one of these mysticism slugs. Miller,(2020) denoted that Strange first discovered this dangerous Blade in a witch's mausoleum near the heart of the Moon, looking as if he had stolen it directly from the set of The Game of thrones. Doctor Strange's ax proved to be the ideal tool for slicing through some extremely unpleasant inter-dimensional monsters, as he has a lengthy history with swords.

The magical teachings at Kamar-Taj are centered around books, as we saw in Doctor Strange film. But one character especially plays a significant role. Despite only appearing in the publications a few times, the Book of Cagliostro has acquired a worthy place on the big screen as asserted by Öhman (2019). Libro di Cagliostro was created by an 18th-century magician named Alessandro Di Cagliostro and first appeared in Doctor Strange, Wizard Supreme. He was an arcane Freemason and maybe Franklin Benjamin physician. That's true, the same spiritual father that slept with the fiancée of Doctor Strange. This deity lived a mystical existence in the comics, going toe-to-toe with Dracula several times, achieving immortality, and absorbing the knowledge of the time-traveling 31st-century magician Sise-Neg. He subsequently wrote a memoir about his adventures, including a list of black magic techniques only seen in the Darkhold and the key to teleportation( Richardson, 2017). The book was handed down through his descendants until it was acquired by Doctor Strange, who used it to travel back in time and observe the Big Bang.

Data and Methods

The research methods that will be employed in this study are qualitative and quantitative research. The qualitative researcher wants to understand the complexity of human psychology and the factors that influence it. The discipline looks into the "how" and "why" of making decisions. Aside from that, the researcher will investigate the occurrence using observation, numerical approximations, and quantitative models. Interviews with participants and a few specialists in the mythical field will be done in addition to the questionnaires given out to respondents for the statistical depiction of the study's findings. Random sampling will be utilized in this study to produce a more scientific result that can illustrate the totality of the population research in selected zones and administer questionnaires to enthusiastic comic book readers in the area.

Findings and Analysis

All of the reviews from the respondents seem to agree on one thing about Doctor Strange: the visuals are breathtaking. The cast mesmerizes and entertains through one of the best Marvel pictures. Remember how The Matrix made you question what you thought was possible in an adventure movie? That's something Dr. Strange performs on four or five occasions. The New York City landscape crazily wrapping on itself as though seen through a kaleidoscopic has been comparable to an M.C. Escher picture as denoted by Zhao, (2020). The best section of Interstellar is one of the critical action moments. 30% of survey respondents applauded the cast, notably Collider's Christina Radish, who called it "one of the maximum supply groups I've seen in a prolonged time." Tilda Swinton, the mysterious guru of the Ancient One, has received particularly high acclaim from other responses. At the same time, Swinton's hiring in character garnered "whitewashing" controversy at the time. The cast adds sarcasm, emotional resonance, and a little weakness to the knowledgeable figure as the Ancient One.

Cumberbatch's performances have gotten mostly positive reviews, with most critics applauding his portrayal of Strange's narcissistic. However, a few people have criticized him for his occasionally stuttering American accent. The supporting cast received positive feedback as well. Ejiofor offers a steady counterpoint as (Duke) Mordo, all contained energy and control. "Mordo is an intriguing character with reasons that are just as complicated as Strange's. Those who desire more of him in the movie should stick around for the two post-credits additional sequences. Doctor Strange's humor, primarily inserted later in the screenplay by Community co-creator Dan Harmon, has earned only mixed reviews. After seeing the film, one of the respondents described up the mood very well in a tweet: "If Doctor Strange does have a flaw, it's in its sense of humor. It doesn't seem to fit together as nicely as it does in past Marvel films." While Monitoring Panel's Ramos said it was "unexpectedly packed with a couple of humor that land quite well," and The Wrap's Manuel Duralde called it a "hilarious, frightening journey," other observers were more indifferent about the humor in general. The majority of responders, however, think that Cumberbatch and Wong have excellent humorous chemistry. Wong portrays the straight person to Cumberbatch's perpetually wisecracking Curious, which respondents termed a funny dynamic. Some of the more ridiculous jokes fall flat, but exchanges between Bizarre and tough librarian drill instructor Wong dazzle.

If you appreciate self-contained fictional universes with no overlapping themes, you'll prefer Doctor Strange to distract them from the narrative. As previously stated, the film reminds the viewers of Iron Man, partly due to how completely immerse we are in the universe of the main character. No personality ever says, 'Hey, let's go see what Avenger is up to!'" Nobody from the Avengers will appear out of nowhere to detract from the audience's absorption in the Stephen Strange story. Audiences knowledgeable with the contemporary Marvel Cinematic Universe are likely aware of the film's frequent flaws, including a lackluster villain and a clichéd love interest. Doctor Strange, regrettably, is the exception to the rule. While Mads Mikkelsen's performance as the antagonist Kaecilius has received widespread praise, some viewers noted that his character was not filled out as fully as it should have been. In the end, Kaecilius isn't featured enough in the film to seem completely fledged. The viewers are given some background information about him and his relationship with the Ancient One, but his presence has been utilized more extensively and in-depth. Furthermore, Rachel McAdams has received support for her interpretation as Strange's former girlfriend and coworker, "bringing a much-needed sense of realism to the unusual events. Of Marvel's windshield girlfriends, she is the most capable and human. Regrettably, She isn't permitted much to do other than have humorous reactions to what is going on around her.

Because this being a Marvel film, the film artifact portray has some obstacles. You'd think that a performer with his caliber would finally overcome the weak villain curse, yet he's given weak purpose, cardboard cut villainy and an illogical end objective. The climactic combat between Dr. Strange and Mikkelsen's characters seems anti-climatic, given the film's huge visual scale and such a small enemy. Fortunately, there are some other villain-related parts in the upcoming movies to look forward to that should not be disclosed. Viewers will instantly realize how comparable Doctor Strange's personality is to Iron Man's. They're both arrogant, conceited geniuses, respective abilities are fueled by mystic circle instruments and whose weaknesses are fueled by hubris. Though this isn't a trait shared by only these different protagonists in the comic universe, it's clear from seeing this film that strange is being groomed to take over as Iron Man's successor. There will come a time when Robert Downey Jr. looks away from his Iron Man boots, and Marvel will have a younger, enormous star with wiseass humor, enormous power, and leadership capabilities to lead the Superheroes. Benedict Cumberbatch is a standout in the cast. He's a first-rate performer. Cumberbatch is fantastic in the role of Strange, and he carries it off with ease. His depiction gives us the idea that he was destined to play the ex-neurosurgeon transformed Sorcerer Supreme. The primary cast is so talented that it exemplifies how amazing the film was all together. Every average moviegoer will enjoy the film's action, humor, excitement, and fantasy.

A solid new superhero with a lot of potential has been presented to the Marvel Universe. In the same way that RDJ did with Tony, Cumberbatch secures and anchors his character as Stephen Strange in the Avengers. Doctor Strange is one of Marvel studio's best films and a visual effects masterwork. Storyline, personalities, and aesthetics are all excellent. The movie has it all addressed, and she does it with a smile. A new superhero and mysterious universe are presented to us. It's a standard character adventure with the central protagonist going from the gutter to rescuing the world, but there's a lot more to it than that. We've got power struggles, ego and accountability issues, teacher-student connections, and I can't emphasize how much effort went into the images enough. However, there are certain disadvantages to Doctor Strange. The shortage of thematic resonance talent displayed by Jon Spaihts and Scott Derrickson is clear.

Many crucial sequences were rushed and lacked the dramatism they required. There were also a lot of bad edits that made it into the final cut. This film's portrayal of antiquities could be so much improved.Doctor Strange pave the way for Avengers to expand its mythology into realms of occultists, monsters, creatures, and other supernatural dimensions that had only been hinted at in prior films. But it wasn't just the odd plots that set "Doctor Strange" distinct. In the comics, inventor and artist Ditko employed vibrant and strange images. Strange's paintings evolved as he wandered into greater abstract regions that reflected the effects of psychedelic use. Said, the excitement around the art display and understanding was unjustified. The cloak, which was granted to him by the Ancient Being, protects the bearer from magical attacks and is nearly indestructible. The cloak also levitates. And while donning it, Strange can change its appearances to take on several forms.

The pendant is the Eye of Agamotto, and it's more than simply an adornment on Doctor Strange's cloak. Strange is given power and obligation to serve as Earth's defender and guardian by Agamotto, a trio of strong mystical entities. Agamotto constructed an all-seeing eye encased in the amulet Strange possesses as an extraordinarily powerful mystical entity. Strange can see through appearances and conceals, revealing the truth, thanks to the Eye of Agamotto, which is customarily conferred on the greatest magician. To comic book enthusiasts, the fact that the superhero is wearing this bracelet is significant. The Eye of Agamotto isn't something someone just put on. Tilda Swinton was considered for the role of the Ancient One. Whereas the gender switch aided in increasing the number of significant female characters in "Doctor Strange" and the Marvel world, it also served as an unpleasant example of Cinema's persistent propensity to delegitimize Asian characters, which was a major criticism of the film.Dragonfang is an intriguing illustration of how much supernatural material Doctor Strange has hanging around his Sanctum. Valkyrie, when she first joined the Defenders, battled with the Black Noble's Ebony Dagger. After that, she required a new weapon, which she found in Doctor Strange's residence, where he was wielding astounding magical swords.

Conclusion

Doctor Strange (2016) is important work since it attempts to depict the current state of civilization. It depicts how people perceive information and use it to make various decisions. The topic is important because it explains how technology innovations are used and how they affect people. The Doctor Stranger piece of art and the generic critiques method are inextricably linked. Both aim to define and comprehend how individuals react to information delivered through a certain genre. The artifact, for example, tries to depict how the major protagonists, Kaecilius and Doctor Strange, use the knowledge they acquire to achieve their objectives. Furthermore, the Doctor Strange artifact aims to comprehend the genre's rhetorical influence in many settings, which is the major goal of the generic critique approach. Furthermore, being a superhero film, Doctor Strange contains some connections with other superhero films such as Hulk and Spider-Man. Both of them started as ordinary people before becoming heroes with the power to rescue the world. They're all there. Doctor Strange and Kaecilius, according to the artifact, both have the power to achieve astounding feats that ordinary humans cannot. Doctor Strange, for example, used manual extraction to extract a bullet from a patient's head in a difficult procedure. Kaecilius, too, utilized margin to jeopardize well being of general societal participants. have a strong sense of right and wrong. Although each superhero takes on a distinct appearance, they all have the same emotional responses and lead normal lives. Many superhero films attempt to communicate to the reader that your activities have the potential to inspire people. Generic critique is based on the premise that certain circumstances elicit comparable wants and intentions in consumers, necessitating specific vocabulary. The goal of generic critique is to discover similarities in discourse analysis and the terminology generated in response to them and better understands communicative practices across time and space. The finest unit of analysis for the Doctor Strange artifact is the general critique approach.
