Altruism is a behavior that involves self-sacrifice and increasing the welfare of others. It is not about helping others, but rather making sacrifice for other people. It requires putting the interest of another person first before the individual interests and usually done without expecting anything in reward for such acts. I agree with the view that altruism requires putting the interests of others first and being concerned with their welfare and happiness. Altruism a real but uncommon act in human beings. Humans are more individualistic and less concerned with the interests of others. However, the act of sacrificing for another is considered an intuitive, reflexive and automatic behavior of individuals who decide to volunteer to sacrifice for others.

Altruism is considered to be morally right based on the consequentialism form. Actions are morally right if they bring good consequences to others. Sacrificing for the welfare of others in a way that brings better outcomes to them can be viewed to be morally right. The selflessness of wholly giving help to another person is the most ethical thing a person can do. Selfishness is concerned with being individualistic, while morality is concerned with the good or the bad. As a result, one may be selfish but still act morally in certain situations.

The sacrifice for a loved one is more automatic and obvious because a loved one can be considered part of the individual. On the other hand, sacrificing for a stranger is an act that requires selflessness, and one must be more altruism and concerned with the welfare of others. The bystander effect is based on the individual’s decision to help depending on the availability of people. Sacrificing for others is less likely when there is a large number of people around. People tend to show less empathy in public places.
