Drama differs from other genres of literature because it lacks a narrator. The author might occasionally join the dramatic text using stage direction and the description of characters. Drama is meant for performance and not just reading. Poetry differs with the rest of the genres mainly because of the arrangement of words into lines and stanzas as opposed to the others which are arranged in sentences and paragraphs. Also, unlike the rest of literary genres, poetry can involve the violation of grammar and punctuation rules. Whereas non-fiction can also function to tell a story, its main strength is to give the readers specific ideas, issues, and facts. However, fiction mainly consists of fantasy where the elements produced are not realistic and some degree of strangeness such as a puzzling event.

The first similarity between the literary genres is that they are all creative writings. The success of each form depends much on imagination. They also employ the use of similar literary tools in helping them to pass the overall message such s similes and metaphors among another literary language. Drama is similar to fiction because they both involve telling of a story, characterization, conflict, and the possibility of a resolution.

Some common literary themes include overcoming the odds, coming of age, death, and crime doesn't pay among others. In poetry, the thematic approach is indirect because it lacks the characters to depict the theme. Drama and fiction tend to be clearer in revealing the theme because of the characters, settings, and presence of a narrator. In non-fiction, the themes are revealed through identification of facts.

The title of the poem is ‘'Phenomenal Woman,'' and the poet is Maya Angelou. The reference citation is http://famouspoetsandpoems.com/poets/maya_angelou/poems/492 . The poem sends an important message about stereotyping women especially based on the color of their skin and further asks women to remain proud of their appearances despite what the masses think about them. The poem does not have any characters and the emotion evoked is confidence and courage with one's appearance. The poem relates to my personal experience especially when I was at my adolescent stage because I lacked in confidence due to my changed appearance.

A fiction involves a story created out of imagination and presented by the author as facts. I have read several books in this type of genre because I love the fact that the stories take me to the world of fantasy and gives me an opportunity to imagine things out of the world. One example of a fiction subgenre is thriller fiction. It has several characteristics that include the sudden rush of emotions, suspense, excitement, and exhilaration. The type of fiction also involves the elevation of ordinary heroes to a point where they overcome the villains who are determined to destroy them. The stories are told in a high stake fashion, with no-stop action that excites and surprises in equal measure.

I read fiction because it is not interesting but also the fact that it possesses unique characteristics that makes it entertaining. It invites me to question what I do not understand well, and through its numerous actions, it paints a memorable picture in my mind causing me to have the urge to read more. The entertainment quality of the fiction emanates from the fact that it elevates the heroes and leads to the decline of the villains. It creates a tense atmosphere where the reader wants to get every bit of information. It is also educational especially on those which apply the use of technological aspects such as drones, ultra speed aircraft, and supercomputers hence giving the reader a sense of what technology can do.

Through active reading, one gets to understand a concept to the core through proper evaluation. It helps an individual understand the author's message by focusing on every detail presented in work. After reading two of my classmates' work, their definitions of fiction is more or less mine because their points of emphasis are that facts are based on the author's imagination. From their presentation of work, it seems that our reading habits are similar because what they have posted to interest them in fiction and how they resonate with the genre.
