The people need community for practical purposes since the need of life cannot be satisfied individually but through mutual relations with others. Another importance of the community to people is for support and nurturing. Humans are diverse and need to identify with who they are for which they require the society for help and as a measure of their individuality. Human beings also need the community for stability and a sense of belonging. Human beings are creatures with a need to feel included and as part of a something relevant. The community helps people belong and identify with something that they share coon beliefs or objective. (McGrath, 2017)Therefore humans need the community for encouragement, existence, and spirituality.

How the Community Fixes People

The community fixes people by offering them an identity and a set of beliefs to govern them. By identity, people can associate with the universe and gain a perspective on life matters. The community also fixes people by satisfying their need for mutual existence. The community drives away loneliness and allows humans to be included in social, cultural and spiritual capacities that aid them to grow together as part of society. A community defines people and the beliefs and foundations giving them a purpose for life. A community socially transforms people to become purposefully and a part of something greater than themselves(McGrath, 2017). Thus humans are answerable and at the same time accountable for something. The community, therefore, fulfills the need of the people of identifying with and serving a purpose in life.

The Church

The church is defined widely and represents several positions. Biblically, church is designated as the body of Christ, an assembly of believers in Christ and as the body of a believer as an individual. The church as the body of Christ is represented in the sacrament which is taken as an indication of faith in Christ and regarded as identification of belonging to the church. On the other hand, the word Church is derived from the Greek word that means an assembly hence the church is a spiritual gathering or a congregation of the people(Williams, 2014). The Bible also describes the church as the body of a believer in that it is the house of the spirit and the dwelling of Christ in salvation. The church is also defined as a place or building used for public worship and spiritual growth.

Role of the Church in Salvation

The church plays a significant role in salvation. First, the church is regarded as a mediator and guarantor of redemption. The church is considered as the body of Christ and salvation is only attainable through Christ. Redemption is returning humanity from sin to the way of Christ thus salvation. Hence, the church acts as an avenue through which people can receive salvation and therefore a mediator and assurer of redemption. Christ through baptism and faith demonstrated the need for the church to be saved. Christ showed that baptism was a way forentering the church hence finding salvation. The church also plays the role of sustenance in salvation. The church offers a place where believers can find Christ continually, therefore, the grace to sustain salvation(Gillum, 2010). The church is both the inception of salvation and the support of the beliefs.
