The world’s transformation occurs dramatically. Currently, people live in the “Anthropocene era,” where human beings alter the life-supporting ecological system intensely (Carrington, 2016). The efforts to achieve sustainable prosperity that promotes social equity, the well-being of people, and minimizing environmental scarcities and environmental risks require new economic visions that consider the intricate relationship of ecology with the world holistically. Technological advancements promote industrialization in different parts of the world. Manufacturing Industries promote over-exploitation of natural resources because they use raw materials from the natural setting to produce goods or products for customers globally. Industrial activities result in the emission of global greenhouse gas into the atmosphere. Greenhouse gases cause global warming, which affects agricultural production globally. Besides, technological development promotes unsustainable exploitation of natural resources from the natural setting. People use natural resources faster as compared to the replenishment or regeneration rates of the resources ( Shmelev, 2016 ). Unsustainable utilization of natural resources results from uncontrolled economic demand for natural resources for the production of products or goods for clients in different parts of the world. Over-exploitation of natural resources promotes the rapid diminishing of biodiversity, for example, fisheries and timber products. Consequently, poor economics hinders the effectiveness of multiple international ecosystem services leading to growth or ecological scarcities or inequality in society. A sustainable society requires the adoption and implementation of economic principles or operations that value the planetary boundaries and recognizes the independence of people’s well-being on social fairness and relations. The economic processes should realize the actual goal of promoting the well-being of people as opposed to the advancement of material consumption. Innovative economics should recognize the embeddedness of economy in culture and society based on ecological life-sustenance or support system. The new economics should acknowledge that economy cannot progress on the finite planet forever. Consequently, a sustainable society promotes human well-being and minimizes ecological scarcities and environmental risks.
