Knowledge is critical for survival in the present world. Without education, only a handful of citizens make it to the top, but, they still lack the respect that the educated citizens are granted. Further, there are different positions they may not hold as result of their inadequacy of education. The current society favors the educated in many ways, their status in the community, politically and economically are usually uplifted than the uneducated individuals. This has created a scenario where those who are not educated suffer and struggle a lot in the country. The education in the country is not cheap, mostly at the college level. With its increasing importance in public, the cost of education has increased to a level where people struggle with school fees for their kids. Furthermore, due to an increased cost of education, many students have been forced to drop out of school and look for other alternatives. Such students end up facing numerous challenges that could have been prevented had they completed their education. This has brought the debate on whether it would be a good idea for the federal government, through the tax payer's money fund education and make it free for every student in the country. Contrary to the expectation, the public is divided on this idea. The opponents cite the increase taxes that may be faced by the citizens as the government will need more taxpayer’s money to fund the education. On the other hand, the proponents cite the massive number of students who would benefit from such a decision. In this article, the author joins the proponents and claim that there is numerous advantages that would accrue to students, society and the country in case the education is made free for all.
`Free education means that more people will get a chance of participating and positively contributing heavily to the national development through taxes. The opponents of the idea claim that the free education idea is not good since it heap much burden on the Federal government and it became much expensive. They claim that the government may have to dig deep into the tax payer's money to fund the free education. To them, the idea may become too expensive in the long run, and the citizens may feel the burden by paying too much tax. This will have a negative impact on the economy. As far as the topic is concerned, this is a good argument from the opponents. However, they are not because when educationist free for all, there will be more elite brain in the country who will have different and numerous alternatives of contributing to the economy (Palmer, 2017). It is not all about employment for an educated individual. These people are given necessary skills which can allow them to find their way through in the tough economy and contribute to it positively. Furthermore, with a good number of citizens educated in the country, there is a high degree of rationality in decision making as far as economic issues are concerned. Smart decision making means that people will find their way of maneuvering in the economy. As they do so, they contribute positively to the economy of the country by paying taxes. The next effect is that the amount used to pay their school fee by the government may be recovered twice or thrice in the long run.

People who lack alternative in life always find their way out in the tough economy. Tracing down their lives, most of such people come from a poor and marginalized background (Sensoy & DiAngelo, 2017). They lack money to pay their school fees since the parents are poor. With the cost of education currently high in the country, such people find it challenging to manage to learn for their children. They, thus, find alternatives. With inadequate knowledge and money to start a meaningful business, crime provides them with the best choice. With limited option in their life, they end up engaging in criminal activities. They end up becoming drug addicts, smugglers, sex workers and others. These are instances which can be controlled when the free education is provided. The critics claim that free education would be expensive in the long run as the government will use tax payer's money to fund the education. However, the crime committed by these people is far much worse than the money that will be spent to educate them. When they turn to crime as the only solution, they end up being killed or becoming professional killers. They have a terrible influence on the society. They create a culture of crime, and this is not good for the entire country. It became even costly than when they are given free education which they will use to find other legal alternatives in life.

The opponents of the idea claim that there might be a drop in the performances of the schools in the country when the education is made free by the government. They argue that one factor which has been a driver to better performance in most schools is the fee. The schools need to put in more effort and make student pass so that their high school fee structure is coherent with their performance. However, this kind of thought seems naïve (Morgan, 2015). The student background, stress level, psychological and social issues are some of the elements which have a direct influence on how student performance in school. What is agreeable is that when there is a free education in schools, there is a high chance that student will fully concentrate in school and their studies. They have no worries after the education. They have no loans to settle. The little amount they get after schooling is only used for their upkeep. They also get a chance to contribute to their family wafers and help their parents, relatives, and siblings. These students get chance of rising in life. After sometimes, they find a way of owning their home and family. They thus gain economic independence fasters than when they have to pay loans.
In summary, when the education is made free for every child in the country, it will not only benefit the child or the family but the society and the entire nation. With free education, the nation gets a population where the majorities are in a position to make a rational decision. This is important in building the country's economy. Further, the students are relieved the stress of being worried about school fee. Moreover, they don't need to worry about how they will pay the loans they acquired to pay their school fee. The overall impact is a high performance in schools, and faster economic stability for the students. This will undoubtedly improve the society and the economy as a whole.
