Often, employees encounter some conduct and communication styles from their bosses as well as co-workers that are do not ordinarily welcomed because they are demeaning, disrespectful, and bordering mockery. Such occurrences are classified as workplace harassment because they make employees uncomfortable while discharging their duties. First, workplace harassment leads to anxiety and stress among employees. Research shows that the level of anxiety among workers is inversely correlated to their productivity (Brande, Bernstein, Reknes & Baillien, 2018). Workers with high anxiety and stress are less productive compared to the stable ones. Workplace harassment causes workers to be axis and consequently impacts negatively on their level of productivity. This also occurs when someone is being interviewed for a job, and a potential employee can detect such ills from his or her first day of interacting with the company leaders (Doyle, 2018). Such anxiety and stress impair one’s ability to make sound judgment that is useful at the workplace.

Secondly, the impact on the worker’s judgment is also because of the effect that workplace harassment has in causing panic among the employees. Workplace harassment leads many employees to panic due to the insecurity it yields among the workers (Lavan & Martin, 2018). Such employees who are panicking cannot make a sound judgment to the benefit of the organization. They may be pushed into making rash decisions because of how they are mistreated at the organization (Doyle, 2018). In the end, they will record poor performance and might lose their jobs although they are not to blame.
Lastly, Workplace harassment contributes to the inability of workers to concentrate at their workplace. Enhanced productivity and innovation among workers often requires them to be highly engaged and concentrated on their work. Workplace harassment robs workers of their ability to concentrate on tasks productivity (Brande et al., 2018). Consequently, such workers are not able to deliver efficiently on their assignments.
Overall, workplace harassment hinders worker productivity in three main ways. This ways include causing anxiety, causing panic and causing an inability to concentrate. Therefore, physical emotional and psychological impacts of workplace harassment on employees hinder their productivity. Organizations must fight the vice of workplace harassment if they are to maintain the productivity of workers.
