After conducting a search of the topic that has presented, what is clear is that there is very limited information on the topic, which makes it hard when intending to find a reliable source of information. The websites that I found with the information on the topic focused on different aspects, which meant that they did not match the expected nature of information. However, one of the links ‘ https://pubs.acs.org/page/vi/impacts-of-unconventional-energy-development.html# ’ can be considered as being a reliable source of information on the topic taking into account that the design of the website does not seem to have pop-up advertisements. In other words, the website does not seem to be directing traffic towards advertisements, which is considered as a key source of revenue. Consequently, that means that one would be able to go through the information given by the specific author while seeking to get what is expected.

The webpage is run by ACS Publications, which is a virtual publication platform for researchers on a wide array of research topics. Before publication on the platform, readers are expected to present their studies, evidence to support their outcomes, and conclusions for verification. Ultimately, this builds on the fact that indeed the information presented as part of the website may be credible considering that it must have been evaluated to determine whether is matches the expected outcomes. That serves as one of the key factors that would lead to the conclusion that indeed the webpage may be credible in providing information that would be useful for individual readers. The webpage also provide a section for comments where readers can present their views and opinions on the topic; thus, making it much better considering that it is much easier for readers to provide a negative review.

The second aspect that would make this website notably credible is the fact that it provides clearly visible contact details of the authors involved in the research presented as part of the site. One of the key features of a credible website is the fact that it provides information that is not only visible but valid, which makes it much easier for a reader to always ask any question that he or she may have with regard to the information presented by the authors. In the case, the authors are Avner Vengosh of Duke University, William A. Mitch of Stanford University, and Lisa M. McKenzie of University of Colorado Anschutz Campus (Vengosh, Mitch, & McKenzie, 2019) In the event that one would want to confirm any information regarding the article that they have written and presented, it becomes much easier considering that they have all provided information on what they can be contacted.

The third aspect to note with regard to the credibility of the website is the fact that it can be considered as being well focused and written in depth with the aim being towards providing individual readers with the clarity that they would expect. A credible webpage is not only viable in providing information on a given topic but also provides information that is well focused on the topic. In this case, Vengosh, Mitch, & McKenzie (2019) provide information that is well researched and provide relevant evidence to support the same. That serves as a clear indication of the fact that indeed the webpage can be justified as being credible; thus, meaning that it is the best in providing readers with information on the topic of discussion.
