Environmental justice ensures that everyone is protected from environmental harm and risk regardless of their race and nationality. The surrounding or conditions where people live contribute to their overall health and well-being. Environmental hazards should be addressed globally to ensure no one suffers on account of the environment.
Our region has an environmental burden of inadequate transportation. This is an issue that is well addressed in urban areas compared to rural areas. For instance, in rural areas, road infrastructure has not been fully developed and at times there are no roads to facilitate effective transportation. However, while there is transportation for urban areas, policies should be put in place to monitor the cost used in transportation. The environmental issues that are faced globally are air and water pollution (Levy, 2011) . Communities affected by air and water pollution are located near industrial plants or within waste disposal sites. Normally, a source of water can get polluted from the disposal site and will automatically spread to other areas.

The most profound underlying reason for environmental injustice is the lack of an integrated approach to the issue. Another reason could be the lack of information or ways to address the health impact of environmental inequalities.
Transportation plays an important role in the development of a country. For our region to solve transportation as an environmental injustice they should ensure that there is equity in transportation. They should include common people in the transportation planning process and decision-making (Levy, 2011) .
Air and water are one of the largest threats that face the environment. The most profound solution to the two is using renewable fuel and clean energy production (Levy, 2011) . We should also protect the natural ecosystem by ensuring that we practice the responsible use of chemicals. In order to protect our environment, we should have innovative ways that help prevent, control and reduce environmental issues.
