Environmental information through the school curriculum and the media has proved crucial in making people understand their role in protecting the environment. The environmental literary plan has made me evaluate and understand most of the decisions I make that affect the environment. It has promoted a deeper understanding of environmental topics and the provision of the necessary skill needed in the active participation of the process of making decisions in society (Wong et al., 2018). I needed the knowledge and skills to make informed decisions about the environmental issues that impact the economy, public safety, and shared natural resources. Although people need to understand the vital role of environmental literacy plan, it must note that working on the plan faces multiple challenges. For instance, an environmental literacy plan requires a funding source that offers the needed grants to different schools and communities around for the efforts made in improving environmental literacy (Suryawati et al., 2020). Moreover, there is a challenge of determining a baseline of environmental literacy and establishing subsequent assessments of following up on the process of working on the environmental literacy plan. Implementation of the environmental literacy plan needs more suggestions. For instance, goals outlined in the environmental literacy plan must be closely aligned with the overarching objectives and goals as detailed in the state's master plan for environmental education. It must be noted that the school facilities and grounds play an essential role in improving students' literacy levels (Wong et al., 2018). Therefore, schools must be treated as real-life models for sustainable living practices and demonstration of innovative planning and technology in reducing the environmental footprint of a school. The most exciting aspect of environmental literacy education and plan was the measurement of environmental literacy. Multiple agencies and individuals have always supported environmental literacy, yet they cannot adequately measure what it involves in the process. Measurement of the environmental policy makes one understand the necessary measures to develop the plan and consider it successful (Suryawati et al., 2020). An environmental literacy plan's success should be based on four components, including impacts, knowledge, participation, and skills. Environmental literacy is one of the most exciting courses that people should give more time to in society. The course has dramatically encouraged my participation in creating new programs and established programs that facilitate the students' and the general community's outdoor learning environments. Such a course offers the perfect ground for establishing partnerships with community organizations to support any improvement to support environmental literacy.
