One item that can be viewed under a microscope is a flower. Flowers play an important role in the ecosystem as they help in the perpetuation of the plant species. Parts of a flower that can be examined in compound microscope are the petals, the pollen grains, the pistil, the ovary, and the ovule. Under the microscope, the ovary has small whitish small bodies which are egg cells that later grow to be seeds. While observing the ovule, one would see large egg sacs in the innermost part with small cells lie. The largest cell is one that grows to become an embryo once fertilization takes place.
