EPA is an advocate for the environment as it is an independent agency that aims at protecting both human and environmental health. As a result, it has several regulations that help it achieve its functions. For instance, it puts controls on manufacturing, processing, distributing, and using chemicals and other significant pollutants to reduce human and environmental hazards associated with them (Goldfarb, 2013). Thus, it is an environmental advocate. Clean Air Act (1963) – It was implemented to regulate air pollution nationwide. Solid Waste Disposals Act (1965) – It regulates disposing of solid and hazardous wastes. Marine Protection and Sanctuaries Act (1972) – It focuses on regulating the intentional disposal of wastes into oceans and also authorizing research related to ocean waters. Endangered Species Act (1973) – It was created to protect imperiled species that were facing extinction threats. Safe Drinking Water Act (1974) – It was meant to ensure that the public acquires clean, safe drinking water. Toxic Substance Control Act (1976) – It controls the introduction of new and existing chemicals. Clean Water Act (1977) – It is obliged to ensure the maintenance of chemical, physical, and biological integrity of the US waters, thus providing solutions to water pollution. Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (1980) – It is meant to assess and clean up areas that have been contaminated with hazardous materials. For the case of China’s Reproductive Policy, it was implemented to help regulate the rapid population growth. However, the government should not enforce strict laws on individuals who fail to abide by them, as long as the individual is in a position to take care and control of his/her children. Thus, this will contribute to positive population growth. Also, the policy is beneficial to parents (Jiang, Li, & Feldman, 2015). Hence, they should be left to choose what they want without any strict laws on their laws.
