Media ethics is defined as principles and standard in which a journalist bears the responsibilities to uphold the highest level of moral behavior. In the New York Times, an article did that was titled “Trump Has Put the U.S and China on the Cups of a New Cold War” (Lander, September 19, 2018). Mark Lander states that Trump is against the imports that are made from China, both countries are plentiful in the economy in the world. This is considered as a trade war by Australian prime minister Kevin Rudd. President Trump even threatens to tax all imports from China; this is not only viewed as a trade war but also a political battle (Lander, September 19, 2018).

From the article, it is unethical for the U.S president to try and sabotage the trade that the U.S and China have heard over the years. By the end of president Trump term in office, no imports will be made from China, and the U.S nation largely depends on imports. It exports less compared to the exports. Most of the imports from China have the highest percentage in the U.S trade market, if no imports are to made from China, United States of America will be in shortage of commodities, and many people will be jobless. China economic aggression should not be seen as a threat to the U.S but as an opportunity in technology advancement and creation of employment. Trading with China is not a sign of weakness as stipulated in the article by Peter Navarro, an economist. Trump may have issues with the China president which may be political thus leading to a cold war within the two nations. The citizens are the ones to suffer from the differences between the two leaders.

In my point of view, the two leaders should put their differences aside and allow the two nations to trade. Both countries gain profit from the exchange. Trump should ensure that he lives a good relation with China instead of leaving a cold war between them.
