The medical professionals have a task of examining the medical dilemmas that comes alongside the advancing medical technology in the field of medicine. As aresult, bioethics comes in to explore and study how medical professionals make decisions with regards to medical dilemmas. There are some rising issues of bioethics in a healthcare setting. The first example is end-of-life care. At the advanced age, medical professionalsface a dilemma in the provision of end-of-life care. There are advanced technologies that can increase survival; however, the quality of care can be low probing the dilemma of whether to allow a peaceful termination of life or to continue with the machines that elongate life with less care of the quality of the care when a person nears his or her death. Another is Eugenics. With advancements in the field of medicine, it is possible to“improve genetic quality through selective reproduction, gene selection, and gene manipulation." The ethical question, in this case, is that should give medical professional take advantage of such advancements to manipulate the biological process taking place during reproduction? The last one is euthanasia. Euthanasia is the termination of the life of a person who is terminal ill to relive him/her from suffering. The ethical question is when and how should euthanasia be done ethically?

The conscience clause is a law that allows a person to refuse to commit to his or her role on the ground of his or her religious belief. This law permits the medical professional to refuse to offer any services or drugs that go against their religious faith. Abortion and sterilization are the instances where conscience clause is common. The conscience clawis not right since it interferes with an individual’s ethical right to autonomy that allows a patient to make a personal decision.
