Ethical nursing leadership is driven solely by the need to maintain the highest levels of integrity in everything aspect of the nursing practice. Personally, my belief in nursing leadership reflects more on the fact that I tend to expect that patients would be accorded a safe environment that provides them with a guarantee of quality health care services. That acts as a key driver towards defining my ethical nursing leadership philosophy, which reflects more on the idea that nurses would be expected to provide compassionate, quality, and safe care to all patients without any form of discrimination. The philosophy acts as a guarantee that nurses would be in a rather effective platform through which to promote the idea of personalized care with the view that this would help meet the set out objectives. The ultimate result of this is that it creates that positive avenue for a relationship between nurses and patients.

Another critical aspect that I intend to focus as part of my ethical nursing leadership philosophy is accountability on the part of the nursing fraternity working within different healthcare environments. Accountability, in nursing, refers to the general idea of ensuring that a nurse takes responsibility for the quality of services that they provide to their patients. In my view, I believe that this is expected of every nurse, as it acts as a guarantee that patients would be in a position allowing them to achieve positive healthcare outcomes. Thus, this serves as a key framework through which to define my leadership philosophy, which is governed by the idea of ensuring that nurses remain accountable for the services that they offer. I will use this as a measure towards determining whether indeed nurses are performing services based on their set out goals and objectives.

On the other hand, I also believe in the idea of having to listen to others within the healthcare environments that I operate with the view that this would help me grow as a leader. Leadership, in nursing practice, is not all about having to make decisions that other nurses would be expected to implement. Instead, leadership is all about creating that positive relationship with the nurses with a view that this would help promote the levels of trust expected. Additionally, this is also viewed as a key framework through which to guarantee efficiency in the quality of services offered with the view that this would match generalized expectations. Consequently, this acts as one of the key aspects that I have considered in my decision towards creating a philosophy that is driven by communication.

Lastly, I intend to pursue the highest quality of services, which would mean that I am in that effective platform through which to maximize the overall objectives of being a nursing leader. In my pursuit for the same, I will focus on two key aspects, which would act as pillars of my leadership, which are care and respect not only towards the patients but also towards my colleagues in nursing practice. I believe in the fact that my effectiveness as a nurse will be driven by the fact that I can impact others positively, which is likely to provide them with a front through which to become future nurse leaders. From that perspective, it is clear that I will be expected to ensure that I not only care about my patients but I also focus on respecting my colleagues based on their roles in the nursing profession.
