Patricia

I agree with Patricia that ethical personalism should be key to professional guidance. This is concerning the requirements of nursing as a profession that aims at satisfying patients health needs. According to Patricia, ethical personalism should comprise of patients well-being, as the ultimate goal of a nurse. This is an indication that the nurses’ efforts should be directed towards patients needs as the sole objective of being in practice. Observation of protocols and professional activities are some of the key aspects that I agree with Patricia. In addition to the patient’s well-being, the virtues of respect and love should also be incorporated as part of ethical personalism. Colosi contends that suffering should be the best opportunity for an individual to experience love (Colosi, 2009). Patients undergo health suffering, an aspect that calls for love to reduce their pain.

Alberta

According to Alberta, ethical personalism is a key component in nursing and should comprise of an effective response to ethical problems. I agree with Alberta that ethical personalism should also use the professional line by responding to issues from a personal perspective. Staffing is a significant aspect of the nursing profession. According to Alberta, ethical personalism directs nurses to step up when there are gaps in the staffing department, and supplement with the required services. I fully subscribe to this thought and believe that continuous cooperation between different staffing sections is vital in achieving the requirements of nursing as a profession. Additionally, a nurse should be able to respond to critical questions that may have been left by doctors, considering their fixed work schedules.

Yolanda

Yolanda suggests that ethical personalism should not only be limited to nursing the profession but extend to general life. According to Yolanda, everyone in the society should be accorded respect, as a way of meeting ethical needs. I agree with Yolanda that ethical personalism should go beyond nursing as a profession and be part of daily life. He further suggests that an individual should be viewed from the lens of humanity rather than on ideas, beliefs or physicality. Besides, ethical personalism should be applied daily, instead of being practiced on specific occasions only.
