The importance of ethics in research can never be overstated. Failure to abide by ethical principles renders the findings yielded by the study null and void. In this regard, a researcher must demonstrate perfect conformity to ethical provisions in the testing and reporting of the data gathered from the research (O'Sullivan, Rassel, & Devance Taliaferro, 2011). Although ethics is fundamental to all research approaches, this paper is anchored on the logical model. Contextually, the logic model is defined as a graphical representation or a detailed road map that demystifies the correlation between resources, outputs, activities, outputs as well as the realized impact of the program. The model is based on the assumption that if the right activity is performed, then a predetermined outcome can be realized. In this regard, the desired outcomes of the project can be realized by engaging in deliberate actions that are geared towards the attainment of the set goals of the project. Understanding the individual elements of the logic model is integral in ensuring a thorough and incisive model is created. The input enshrines all the resources that are dedicated to the operations of the program. The activities entail what the entity does with the resources in a bid to fulfill the mission of the program (O'Sullivan, Rassel, & Devance Taliaferro, 2011). The output is the results yielded from the process, and the outcome is the measurable impact of the program on participants or the target population. The logic model is preferred in some instances because it provided a detailed and graphical overview of the input, activities, output, and finally, the projected outcomes of the program. Furthermore, the model is integral since it acts as a point of reference for planning purposes, and an in-depth explanation of the vast spectrum of outcomes that can be obtained is offered. The purpose of the usage of the logic model is to measure improvements in behavior, conditions, skills, and attitude (O'Sullivan, Rassel, & Devance Taliaferro, 2011). As a means to demonstrate an extensive understanding of the subject, a logic model illustrating how a public education program can be used in reducing the prevalence of obesity in the United States. The sprout of a population that understand the importance of proper dieting and physical activities, a reduction in the prevalence of obesity, and improvement of the health of persons. From the above logic model, it can be inferred that the attainment of the desired outcome is dependent on the recruitment of qualified public educators. Also, the recruitment of volunteers to aid the efforts of the public education program and the inclusion of healthy eating and fitness programs is crucial. Notably, the inputs are instrumental in ensuring that the program received a broad reach, attains a more significant outcome, and reduces the predisposition of people to becoming obese and developing obesity-related conditions. Moreover, the desired objectives can only be attained if activities such as public education, holding seminars, promoting the agricultural activities of farmers that grow organic foods, and introducing healthy foods in school vending machines are undertaken. The activities will improve the public’s knowledge of obesity prevention and avail healthy food options. The outcome of the project will be a healthy population and reduced susceptibility of the public to developing obesity. In this regard, by following a clearly laid down road map, the program will be able to impact the public’s quality of life and general wellness.
