Real-life Example of Goodness
A quick and close example of goodness that I can think of is when I watched the animation One Hundred and One Dalmatians. Since I had not watched the movie , my cousin Sam took his time to try and convince me to watch it, following my passion for animation films. As I understand, the overarching message in the film is that we must never be afraid to reach out for the rights of others, whatever the extent such actions may take us. The principal dog character, Dalmatian Pongo spies lovely Perdita and maneuvers his master, Roger, landing over to his new owner, Anita. Both Pongo and Perdita give birth to fifteen puppies, who Cruella De Vil wants to kill so she can have a fur coat. Anita's and the Badun Brothers show “goodness” by the way the stand against the idea of killing the fifteen puppies. To me, that defines my idea of goodness.
Moral Relativism
The first film represents Gilbert Herman’s perspective of moral relativism. The differences in in moral practices across different cultures poses an important question on ethics, to which the concept of ethical relativism offers response (Shafer-Landau, 2018). The general idea of moral relativism is that the aspect of morality is relative to the norms that one’s culture offers. In the film, the most outstanding example that Herman offers is bribery. (26.2) It may be normal for citizens to participate in bribery in some cultures, but other cultures might possess a different perceptive of the act. On the second film, the Shackles of Traditions by German anthropologist Franz Boaz. Boaz addresses the theory of cultural relativism as an explanation to moral relativism (36.2). In it he explains that diversity and the differences that people hold in terms of beliefs, history, and each aspect of the broader culture impact on their definitions of specific aspects of morality.

Response to Courtney Kennedy
Hello Courtney,
I utterly agree with you that even the smallest acts of kindness, gives an individual some sought of personal fulfillment. I especially love how you have identified the pay forward movement slogan and how well you have gone ahead and given an example with yourself in believing in doing well for other individuals in the society. Myself, I have not tried practicing the forward movement, but after reading how thoughtful of an individual to practice such an act of kindness, I too have been moved to partake in demonstrating my act of kindness in one way or another; where I can possible be in a position to offer. Finally, this is a really great post, Keep it up.
