Marijuana Legalization

New Jersey police make the most arrests in marijuana possession. New Jersey legislators are on the road to legalizing marijuana and joining other states in ending marijuana prohibition that began in 2012, with countries like California already legalized marijuana. New Jersey though has holdbacks since marijuana is still illegal under federal laws. In this essay, the reader is going to understand the reasons why marijuana should be legalized in New Jersey.

For one marijuana should be legalized because it will increase the government revenue collection. The marijuana industry is one of the most promising and rising business in the U.S. The marijuana business in authorized states has in total contributed close to 17 million dollars in the last two years. Legalizing marijuana will increase the revenue that New Jersey receives as tax, and the funds may be channeled to the development and building better infrastructure. Most people in New Jersey uses marijuana as a recreational drug, and a majority of the public favors its legalization.
