Code of ethics is written guidelines adopted by an organization to help the workers conduct themselves in accordance with the organizational culture and standards. It has a great impact on the society in that its accountability and responsibility. Every employee is held accountable and responsible for their actions and Facebook rewards them for being loyal to the organization. Additionally, it improves in decision making since all employees are accountable in their operations and the code is instilled in them daily ( Gerald, Marianne & Cindy, 2014) . Also, it enhances team building through the unification of all at the workplace.

Compliance with a code of ethics ensures that the company will develop a culture that follows the law thereby reducing the costs associated with lawsuits or even fines ( Thomas, 2008) . Additionally, all employees are treated equally and with respect and they are given equal opportunities to grow and improve the employer-employee relationship. Non-compliance costs are those costs associated with protection of compliance standards, mostly provided for by the laws of the country the business is operating in. One cost is fined. Facebook faces fine costs or even lawsuits due to data breaches and hacking leading to misuse of personal information. Loss of trust is another non-compliance loss. When companies have laws suits and news of fines are everywhere, the clients start questioning their credibility in providing quality services that they require ( James, 2009) .

An organization can promote its ethics among the employees. This benefit the company through employees support through tough times, improvement in productivity and strong teamwork, employee growth and relevance to the organization through avoidance of mistakes made from ‘error of omission’ thus reducing fines and enhances the promotion of a good organizational image ( Wakeman, 2017).
