The underlying stance of the Christian life is faith. James encourages us to show both faith and deeds in all our endeavors. In most of their dealing, many people do show their deeds instead of faith. One should show his or her faith by what they can do. According to James 2:24 You see that a man is justified by works and not by faith alone. By this, James urges us to put what we believe in into action. You may have strong faith in something, but until that faith is put into practical, it remains useless.
I don’t think that James is saying that a person gets saved through actions. A person gets saved, not by works, but by faith alone in Christ alone. Romans 9:15-16 explains that our salvation is based on what God does, but not on what we do. It is God who decided who is saved and not. Work does not play any role in our journey to salvation, but it's through God’s mercy that we are saved.

I don’t think that James is saying that we can assume that there are not believers if people fail to act like Jesus. James is trying to teach people that we should emulate the actions of Jesus in our day to day lives. We don’t have to be like Jesus, but we need to make him our role model in all our dealings; e should use his practical examples while dealing with other people and living our lives.
Yes. I will be willing to share time if I find out that what I was believing was not in line with what I was acting. No one would feel frustrated by their actions and thus taking some time is essential as soon as you realize things are not going as planned.
