The family offers support to their loved ones and can learn what affects their loved ones. Therefore, the patients are likely to recover quickly because the family ensures that their loved ones comply with their modes of treatment (Weiss, 2017). On the other hand, the concept of family health education is concerned with educating the family on how to take care of their loved ones when they are sick as well as ensuring that they adhere to their treatment protocol.
The two concepts relate to the family practice nurse because they are core to promoting the health of the family. Involving the family members will not only help the family practice nurse in diagnosing the patient but also coming up with the right intervention to the problem (Kuo et al., 2012). Also, it can be said that there is a mutual relationship between family education and family practice nursing. For instance, when the family is well educated in health matters and how they can take care of their loved ones who are sick, it becomes easier for the nurse to help the patient because there is family support. Therefore, educating and involving the family on health matters of their loved ones as very important for family practice nursing as it makes the work of the nurse easier as well as boosting the healing process.

The two concepts are important for a family practice nurse in different ways. To begin with, the family is the foundation of support for an individual.
