It is important to consider the little things that people normally ignore. 'Eating badly' refers to fast foods, which in most instances, are junk foods. Fast foods are less of a balanced diet, and the foods are not energy-giving. Thus, eating badly will require someone to eat every time to get the needed energy. One benefit is getting healthy foods that are fresh and have all the necessary body supplements. Farmer's market foods have fewer preservatives and chemicals that might affect our bodies. The goals are to have food they are rich in the required body elements. The relative energy that we as humans invest in each of the food groups is a reflection of the opposite of what we are consuming. Stopping or limiting foreign food imports will not affect humans energy consumption (Drum, 2011). People will be dependent on domestic foods that do not travel far. The overall effect on the United States food system will be negative. There will be less importation of the farmer's market foods. People will be consuming more fast food and less healthy food, which will impact their energy consumption level. One way to cut down on transport-related energy use is to reduce the supply chain. Focus on delivering the food from the farm straight to the consumers. The strategy will cut down on transportation costs and increase eating habits (Drum, 2011). Another way is through door-to-door delivery. The economically viable one is reducing the supply chain. It will be possible to cut down on transportation-energy-related use. Consumers will receive the farm produce within the shortest time possible. Consumers can cut down on transportation-related energy use by limiting the number of times they travel to grocery stores to make purchases. They should consider making bulk purchases only when necessary.
