Part 1: Porters’ Five Forces Analysis

The favorite team selected for Porter’s five forces analysis is Sydney FC. The five forces analysis comprises of the suppliers’ bargaining power, consumers’ bargaining power, new entrants’ threat, substitute products’ threat, and competitive rivalry. Regarding the suppliers bargaining power, the suppliers provide Sydney FC and other sports teams with inputs while the relationship that they have with the club is of a different state. The providers of kits establish agreements with the club hence offering them with supplies together with extra financial advantages. This indicates that the outputs’ cost remains significantly high whereas the players who serve as suppliers have a tremendously high bargaining power. When it comes to consumers’ bargaining power, the clients serve as the sports fans who select their favorite football club while their dedication to the team progresses during the long run. With the decision of sports raising prices depending on abundance of fans showing willingness for paying, it serves as an indication that the bargaining power of the consumers is low. On new entrants’ threat, the sports sector is peculiar meaning that the uncertainty element of probable new entrants remains low. This is because the league members have awareness of clubs that are receiving promotion. Thus, the threat of new entrants is low in this case. Regarding substitute products’ threat, it is essential to note that in the football sector, football serves as the product that is produced. The product might fail to be similar in diverse instances, but still serve as a single product. In the case of Sydney FC, the threat of new entrants is low mostly because it is not possible for its fans to prefer other games. On competitive rivalry, every football club has distinct clients (supporters) from others while it does not target winning other teams’ supporters. The reason for this is that supporters of a certain club do not serve as a different club’s fans (Bischoff, 2017) . Competitive rivalry in this case is low.
