The changes in FEMA regulations after the Katrina disaster resulted in the establishment of offices in different regions in America. The purpose of opening the offices was to eliminate the cause of the damages and deaths. The FEMA agency can provide education to the citizens al the local levels with the assistance of the regional managers. The regions are manageable as compared to the states where it can be difficult to achieve cooperation.
The leaders give information to households and entrepreneurs for them to get prepared for the disasters. The leaders provide education on methods of driving during winter and ways of constructing houses that catastrophe friendly. The regional managers train and handle the FEMA's website to make sure all the citizens receive the information.
The regional managers give reports to the state and national commissions about the casualties, survivor and the individuals who need help due to the effects of the disaster. The regional leaders oversee the reconstruction of roads, learning institutions, and recreation facilities. It becomes more comfortable for the government and agency to manage the operations at the local level (Bea, 2007).
