Is there any truth about fictional worlds or characters?

Most people think of fiction as a representation of a world of fantasy where everything in the fiction story does not actually exist in the real world. In most fiction stories, the characters are monsters or merely objects which have been given the power to move around and do certain things which humans do and more. However, not everything in fiction stories is vague and untrue. In other fiction stories, some of the characters are absolutely real while others have been given additional powers which the ordinary human being does not possess. The events in a fiction story could be a combination of reality and fiction (Hartwell, 2017). One of the common questionable points in a fictional story is the part where a character gets involved in a deadly operation or accident in which any real human cannot survive, and the character gets to survive. The work of a fictional author is to try to produce a story without limitations of human nature. In other words, the real world setting has various limitations, and a creative author would like to add more flavor to the story (Wolf, 2014).

Of course, there are a lot of factual events in a fictional story, and some of the actions of fictional characters are factual and real. Actions such as regular walking, talking, drinking coffee and normal driving among others can be considered real and true. In most fictional stories or movies, the author creates a world or a city out of a real common city. The name of the city may be changed, but the places around the city remain similar, except for a couple of alterations here and there. It could be conclude that, while fictional stories are considered unreal, some of the characters and events in the fictional stories are indeed true and real. There is some truth about the fictional worlds as well the fictional characters (Lewis, 1978).

Do the Authors have final authority on their created truths?

The author of any book is the creator or the originator of that book. The author of a book gives existences to that book and hence holds authority over what is written on the books. Authors of the fiction world are no different from other others. Most authors of the new age have most often combined reality and fiction to enhance their writing and attract more attention to readers. Fictional authors, just like other authors, have the final authority and the responsibility for the creations. The authors dictate what happens in the stories, what character get what kind of powers and what character becomes the main character. The authors have the ability to give any fictional character, any form of power.

Fictional authors take account of the events in the fiction world. They choose what names to give characters and create the fiction world in the design best suitable for their story. An author determines that conclusion of the story. Authors are protected by the copyright laws of authorship. Any person seeking to use the intellectual property of an author must seek permission from the copyright holder. It is in the power of an author to decide what happens his or her creation (Dawson, 2013).
