Mendelson (2020) note that, in 2004, Florida voted for a minimum per hour wage ballot and was approved with a vote success of 71% compared to 28% who voted no. The bill provided a 6.15$ pay per hour as the minimum wage, which was set to increase annually depending on CPI-w changes ( Mendelson, 2020) . However, since then, the wage has seen slight changes, with the minimum wage currently standing at 8. 56$ per hour. With such an increase, worker's living standards in Florida will be raised regardless of their race or skin color. Every citizen will afford a standard life where they can afford to raise their families and make their lives better. Should the hourly wage be increased to 15$, many workers live transform (Clay 2020).

According to Mendelson (2020), voters in Florida recently voted for the wage amendment bill 2 to increase to 15$ per hour by the year 2026. Additionally, there will be a minimum increase of a dollar per year from the current minimum wage. The minimum wage per hour will also reduce individuals having to work a late hour or have more than one job trying to get enough money. Workers will be able to have more free time to rest; thus, they become productive and creative. They will also have more time with family, and those parenting have time to resume their parental responsibility. Many Florida workers struggle to pay their mortgages and, at times, leading to their properties auctioned. The wage increase will enable many to comfortably pay their mortgages as they tend to their other financial needs.

Even though the bill faces lots of critics especially from the business, indicating that around 158,000 jobs will be lost, many support as some business have already increased their hourly wage to 15$ (Clay, 2020). With a span of five years to implement the bill step by step, many firms will adjust to the wage increment. Employees become less productive when they don't get enough resting time; with an hourly wage of 15$, there will be no need to work overtime or have more than a job. 40 hours a week will be enough to make enough to afford a standard life when an employee can meet all their financial needs (Carr, 2018). It is therefore extremely important to increase the wages as it will also increase their productivity.
