Food security is a situation where the population has sufficient food, which is safe for their consumption and is also nutritious and promotes their active and healthy life ( USAID, 2019). Therefore, food security has critical components. The first constituent of these components is the availability of the food to the populations. The next is access to food everywhere, and everywhere, a person is within the place ( Pires et al., 2019). There are food utilization and food nutrition as other components of food security. Therefore, these components must be present in their equal measures for food security to be available.
Nutrition is critical to human life. An inappropriate diet in a portion of food can lead to either undernutrition and overfeeding. Undernutrition is not suitable for people as it can lead to loss of weight. It can also lead to food-related diseases as well as fatigue, and mood changes or develop vitamin and mineral deficiencies ( Qureshi & Yusuf, 2019). On the other side, overnutrition is not good either because it can lead to dangerous chronic diseases such as obesity.

Cost-Effective Strategies to Manage Global Nutrition Issues
Promoting awareness of the need to encourage healthy eating could be one of the best and cost-effective solutions to global nutrition issues. Food security may be a problem, but so is the lack of awareness of the issues such as over-eating and under-eating. Therefore, promoting healthy eating and also increasing awareness of the need to balance diet can work well. The best way is to reach out to the media and make adverts ( Adesogan et al., 2019). There is also a need to collaborate with different local health agencies to promote healthy eating programs. The local agencies reach many people, and they can be useful. Combining this approach with addressing food security in areas where such problems are prominent could be a good step towards eliminating the matter.
