It is an important aspect for a whole business to value midnight shifts and to manage it with great care. Most of the customers from the outside countries are bound to call around midnight. Valuing and attending to calls of such customers is very crucial for a business. I will have to come up with means where the midnight shift will look attractive for the workers. The workers must remain highly motivated to work on the night shifts as this will have an impact on the overall productivity. Therefore, I will have to come up with means whereby this midnight shift can be made productive for the workers.
To attain this, I will have to organize a meeting for all the 10 workers under me. In this meeting, I would encourage workers to perceive the midnight shift as an opportunity for learning and also explain to them the benefits related to it ( Ben Decker, 2015 ). Below, are some of the things I would tell my team;

As you are aware that our organization is doing very well, in our minds, we had plans of widening our markets. A number of you will get promoted and have new responsibilities in handling foreign fields in the organization’s new market. But for one to be able to be promoted and hiked, they must have all the abilities to serve the foreign customers. As everybody is aware that a big number of foreign customers of this organization make their calls to our business during the night. Having the ability to serve the current foreign customers in our organization will give you the upper hand of joining the available senior positions we have established. Therefore, the board running this organization has developed a chance of offering the current workers a learning exposure of serving foreign customers. This organization needs two employees to work on the night shift. These employees will be assigned the midnight shift job on the basis of who offers himself freely to do the job. According to me, this is a very good chance for everyone here, to improve their ability and expertise in serving foreign customers. As the company aims at opening up more opportunities related to this in the future, this exposure will also make you suitable for these opportunities. The first employee to volunteer himself/herself will always be assigned to a midnight shift job. Therefore, as your manager and a coach, I would encourage you to take this good opportunity and improve your chances of getting more employment opportunities in the future.”
Any negative comments in the organization must be dealt with critically. Negative comments are bound to demoralize workers and distance them from the new company’s opportunity. A good manager is one who is able to keep the morale and the output of the workers high, even when the situations are bad ( Ben Decker, 2015 ). An effective manager is one who makes employees see the good side of the bad comments. This keeps the morale of the workers high and therefore improving their productivity.
