In the American history, a significant number of authors have been using the word "gender" for men against women. As a result, feminist theories have emerged questioning this critique of male bias which has led to the problem is stabilising the nature of female. Further, this term has affected sex roles and distinction between biological sexes. Though, authors such as Money suggested that sex is not a prediction or guarantee of the gender roles. Thus, the argument presented is that gender and sex is not something that is invented by culture rather it is something natural that grows from birth. The major question that Halberstam poses is how people should understand the sex-gender system.

Different understanding of the relation between sex and gender has adversely affected feminist and masculine relation. According to Kuntsman (2012) , the major outcome of gender and sex attribute is the oppression and racism of some groups. For instance, before capitalism in U.S, black feminist was considered to be strong than white women (Spring , 2016) . Thus, racism is seen to detach gender variance from sexed bodies. Also, gender variance contributed to the growth of sex and gender relations such as gays and lesbians in the United States ( Watson, 2014) . Also, sex and gender system has embodied the administration where gender groups such as gay were given the permit to campaign in the street of Midtown Manhattan in March 1970.
