Several social variables and determinants have played a significant role in influencing gender inequality. First, education, whereby males are better educated than females has worsened the inequality as women have fewer opportunities for advancement. Gender roles have continued to impact the inequality as women are pushed to do the domestic chores and childbearing duties while the man is given the important role of breadwinning.

The formation of feminist groups is one of the failed strategies used in addressing gender inequality. The main reason why feminism failed is that people viewed it as a way women sought a paradigm shift that could see them dominate men. As a result, men have worked round the clock to thwart such movements.
The best practice that has so far yielded fruits in addressing gender equality is education. Providing education to both boys and girls provides them with equal opportunities for advancement in life. It elevates them to a similar position where each act as partners but not subservient to one another (Branisa, Klasen, & Ziegler, 2013).

Gender equality is fundamentally viewed as a myth not only by men but a large population of women. There is a body of stereotype which asserts that man was naturally made to dominate and rule the woman (Jayachandran, 2015). As such, women are entitled to show obedience to their husbands.
I believe that equality should not just be a concept, but it should be earned. If women want to be treated equally to men, then they should ensure that they acquire all the prerequisite resources such as education and the willpower. Such bias will, therefore, make me lean towards the side of men by supporting that women must work hard lest they remain on the periphery.
In limiting my biases, I will utilize the functionalism theory which asserts that each part of the society plays a vital role in the overall success. An example is that men require women for reproduction and that males and females must work together for economic growth.
