Question 1
Many professions are seen as a calling. A calling is seen as a voluntary need that comes from oneself. I would pursue medicine as my calling. For a doctor to see their profession as a calling, some qualities distinguish them from ordinary professions. In the Christianity context, they view profession as more than just an occupation but a calling. Being called to pursue medicine, one has to be hospitable, patient, understanding, and above all kind to their patients (Katz, 2002).
Question 2
Gideon came from one of the frailest clans and was the weakest man in the family (Judges 6:15-16). God used him to deliver the Israelites from the Midianites. God asked Gideon to reduce the number of men he had to three hundred men so that they would not boast and claim that it was their number that led them to victory. Israel’s men asked Gideon and his descendants to rule over them even though he was seen as the weakest in his family (Judges 8:22). He, later on, declined the offer. Often, I am seen as not capable of achieving my dreams, but I am able to fulfill them one way or the other in the near end.

Question 3
Gideon’s doubtfulness to God is seen when he asks God to drench the woolen fleece and leave the ground dry (Judges 6:36-40). This was a test to show Gideon that he would save the Israelites through His hand once again. Gideon woke up to a drenched fleece and dry ground but still, we see him asking God to cover the ground with dew once again and let the woolen fleece be dry. Once again, he wakes up to wet ground and a dry woolen fleece (Curtis, 2020). Occasionally, I doubt my faith in God and His power to deliver me from my problems, but in the end, He reveals how dependent He is and will always be there.
Question 4
Calling is a voluntary need that comes from within. Its qualities outstand and thus, showing that it is more than just an occupation. A profession is usually seen as a guide towards what you like and prefer. A profession is not more than just a job. This is because I require it to sustain my daily needs and provide for me.
