Nike is perceived as one of the giant multinational corporations that supply a variety of products all over the world. It is quite imperative to note that Nike majorly outsource its activities and operation in the third world countries, and this is based on the fact that the corporation does not own even a single company that deals in the manufacturing of its products. However, in as much as Nike is considered a giant outsourcing Multinational Corporation, it is quite essential to note that the company has had challenges across its supply chain (Sobocinski, 2017). The company has been able to battle with the challenges of child labor in an attempt to ensure that there exist integrity and fairness in its operations across the globe. Nike Corporation has been in good shape to influence the local culture through the provision of job opportunities to the locals in third world countries.

Global stratification impacts the local culture in several ways, especially based on the concern of improving the quality of the lifestyle. Ideally, the fact that multinational organizations engage in the outsourcing initiative to look for better profits, the locals always benefit in terms of accessing readily available job opportunities provided by the companies. The locals with the requisite skills and expertise get the chance to be exported either to further their education or just in the line of duty (Shi & Zhu, 2018). In this case, the locals get the opportunity to improve their lifestyles and that of their families. In view of the negative effects on the local culture, it is quite essential to note that global stratification affects local culture based on the wealth of their nations. Hence, in low industrialized countries, the living standards of their nationals are very low. Besides, the economic vulnerability of the locals is quite high, based on the economic differences created by global stratification.

The concept of global stratification affects the United States in several ways based on the fact that the country is one of the wealthiest in the world. The fact that wealth and finances are key determinants in accomplishing the concept of global stratifications, several companies in the United States have embraced the culture of outsourcing jobs that would otherwise be made available to the Americans. Consequently, unemployment also hit Americans on the basis that multinational companies focus on outsourcing in a bid to look for better profits (Marginson, 2016). The positive side effects of global stratification dwell on the fact that several companies are manufacturing and producing products in the United States. On the same note, when such products are exported, the country gets a chance to earn better foreign exchange within the global platform. Additionally, the United States benefits from the exportation of expertise to its campuses. The objective of exporting education improves the American lifestyle by a significant margin, especially in the context of understanding diversity and innovations.

The biggest winner in this situation is the multinational corporations on the basis that their primary objective is to search for better profits through outsourcing very capable professionals. The search for profits and the selection of expertise in different countries are conducted irrespective of whether the country is sufficiently endowed with wealth and resources. As observed by Sobocinski (2017), the fact that America is wealthier than the third world countries and also benefit through the exportation of technical skills from the concept of better foreign exchange means that the third world countries are the biggest loser in embracing the concept of global stratification. Ultimately, in as much as globalization champions for embracing the values of different cultures, third world countries need to take precaution when adopting the culture of global stratification in their objective of engaging in international business.
