An internship is a critical part of training that helps one horn some practical skills to complement the theoretical knowledge acquired in classrooms. It is an opportunity to exercise what one has learned, determine how much he/she can put into practice and identify any knowledge gaps. In this regard, to make the best out of my internship, I have made several internship goals that I need to meet during my forthcoming internship at Healthcare Administration.
My first goal is to equip myself with efficient therapeutic skills, assessment skills, develop confidentiality, and acquire patient risk management skills. These skills will enable to serve or take care of patients without fear or hesitations.

Second, as an intern, I aim to develop my ability to perform psychological assessments that will improve my ability to conduct skilled diagnostic interviews. The skills will also enable me to use diagnostic instruments properly, effectively create and organize medical reports, document clinical interviews as well as evaluate collected data to provide a precise diagnosis. I also seek to develop my skills to write excellent appraisal reports
My third goals is to develop my ability to understand and respect cultural and individual diversities since in my line of work I will be dealing with people from different walks of life. My service delivery should, therefore, be culturally responsive.
Fourth, I hope to use the internship opportunity to develop my communication skills. I want to develop the ability to freely and openly communicate with patients and elicit feedback on with information regarding their health without hesitation. Last, keeping an open mind will help me learn and understand the ethical and legal issues/practices that I need to adhere to as well as how to manage ethical dilemmas.
I believe that this internship will help me become a better nurse because I will incorporate professional ideas acquired into my own professional identity. It will thus assist me in developing realistic career plans and goals.
