Question 1
This week the thing I have learned about God and the problem of evil is how both good evil can coexist in the same world. In Cartmanland and the problem of evil, we see character like Kyle questioning God’s morality and existence when He evil individuals like Cartman are granted happiness even though, according to Kyle, he does not deserved it ( Johnson, 2013) . For good to be accomplished, evil must precede, which in most of cases, is hard to contemplate. God allows evil to occur, and at the same time, God is not in favor of evil, which is quite contradicting. However, in my understanding, evil must be present so that people can be able to appreciate good deed and have the chance to differentiate what is good from evil knowing the consequences of each action.
Also, in the reading of B.C Johnson and the problem of evil, it bring into light how evil can be perplexing ( Johnson, B. C., 2005) . Individuals may wonder why God, in his all-powerful, all-loving nature, still permit evil in the world. God uses evil to create moral urgency; without it, people will not see the need of doing good deeds, which, in a way, makes sense. In all human hardships, God decides not to intervene to mold and bring virtuous characters from humans. In Douglass and problem of evil, the society had made Christianity hypocritical, with full of deceit, corruption, double-dealing. It is hard to differentiate good and evil as they were becoming synonymous. Religious was slowly its sacredness as the church was full of hypocritical double-faced individuals. The church gained from the propagation of slavery, meaning that Christianity had lost its essence.

Additionally, there is the question of the existence of God, where Thomas of Aquinas present five proofs that God exists ( Te Velde, 2017) . The first indication is centered on the process of change whereby things in the world are yet to realize perfection, which is underway, thus there is a supreme force which is responsible for these changes. The nature of causation is the second proof of God’s existence as nothing can precede itself for something must first initiate the cause. The third proof is that the force greater than all makes things to come into being. The fourth cause is the perfection of beings; Aquinas asserts that the greater being that is a source of all goodness and desired perfections. The last evidence is that everything in the universe is by design, while thing in nature lack intelligence, there is a more knowledgeable being who give everything a sense of purpose.
Question 2
There are natural evils which do not necessarily have to do human moral uprightness ( Swinton, 2017) . Earthquakes, floods, drought, and other natural calamities have nothing to do with human action, and yet humans have to suffer from it. These occurrences are perceived as punishment as many innocent and righteous people are consumed by it, which is not justifiable in any way. When death occurs from such disasters, even if the bottom-line would be that the righteous people would go to heaven, it is still not the reason enough for people to die whatsoever. God, in His mighty nature, can stop these evils from devouring the righteous, but He still allows it. It is very problematic that God allows free will, but in the end, people have to suffer for it. The problem of evil in a way is a complicated phenomenon which is difficult to contemplate. One hard puzzle to unfold is why the righteous perish, and the evildoers prevail. The moment we find the answer to this question, we would have solved the problem of evil. When it comes to deciding what morality to follow, individuals should be guided by the sense of right and wrong. If what you do will be harmful to others and self, one should reconsider pursuing it. On the other end, if what one contemplates to do will be of greater good, one can proceed with it.
Question 3
The fact the innocent kids die each day from water-borne diseases which is preventable is devastating. Making the world a better place for every living creature should be the prime purpose of every breathing soul. Water contamination, poor hygiene, crowdedness are the human actions which, in turn, comes back to haunt them. Thus, individuals should strive to keep their water and environment clean to avoid unnecessary deaths. In most cases, it is very painful to see little toddlers experiencing excruciating pain as a result of our negligence. I deeply sympathize with the little kids going blind due to trachoma, a disease resulting from poor sanitation from this infectious disease.
Giving a quarter a dollar to a good course is worthwhile; the moment that little money touches the lives of the children in need, it is truly fulfilling. However, the moment we do not give freely, it speaks a lot about the human nature. In as much as God should play a greater part to help the suffering, human being should also do their part too. We do not see God, but we can see our fellow humans suffering, why should one not help. It is our sole responsibility as human being to help others in need, not necessarily waiting for God; we are here on earth with one purpose to uplift each other. Going by the law of nature, humanity live by the sense of good and evil; in this case, helping out children in need is for a common good. Morality spells out that it is our responsibility to be custodians of life simply by preventing the killer diseases even before it occurs.
