After taking the dark triad test, I scored 24% on narcissism, 17% on Machiavellianism and 19% on psychopathy. The test results shocked me as they portrayed a greater interest in self; a focus on personal gain and unemotional condition as well as a desire for volatility and antisocial behavior. These results do not convey my true character since I am always mindful of others and sympathize with them while offering support where possible. I also uphold moral values and always seek to ensure the greater good for all without manipulation (IDR labs international, 2013). Additionally, I am confident in my own abilities to achieve my goals as well as empower others to succeed. However, I tend to take risks even when returns are not guaranteed and I am able to tolerate high stress levels.

John Locke (2014) is of the opinion that human beings are rational, have self-interest and therefore they deserve their rights and freedom as they can make right choices. He proposes that help should be accorded to all individuals without causing harm. According to him, the need for governance is to sort out disputes and to ensure that law and order prevails in society. Thomas Hobbes (2014) on the other hand, proposes that humans are irrational beings who would fight for power and the scarce resources available if not governed. He is therefore of the opinion that governance ensures adequate resource utilization, promotes economic growth and protects its citizens from civil wars. I therefore take a Lockean view of the world that human beings are rational and have the capacity to make right choices.

A prince is faced with numerous challenges while executing his duties as he is highly ranked within the society. He should therefore give appropriate responses to challenges that encompass his subjects without discrimination. This should be done while promoting the greater good for all regardless of whether the act is deemed as a vice or a virtue. Additionally, he should strive to inculcate a sense of fear in his subjects as it commands respect and obedience. Moreover, he should be merciful or cruel on the basis of the situation to safeguard his subjects from harm and wars (Niccolo, 1979). I also agree that he should lead by example in upholding integrity and truth. As a result, he will be able to accomplish his goals and objectives and enhance the well-being of all the subjects.
