An Increase in disaster threats not only reflect on the onset of happenings such as floods or hurricanes, but also the changing demographic and socioeconomic features of the population. Several members of the community are exposed to several types of hazards. That requires viable ways to assist in mitigating the vices. That will ensure safety and exposure risks on several sections of the community.
The Various Types of Risks and Hazards faced by the Community
According to Blaikie, Cannon, Davis and Wisner (2014), the community remains exposed to various environmental hazards. That is predominantly in two types; technological and natural hazards. Natural hazards are extreme activities that arise from the natural environment. Technological risks entail the human controlled businesses such as factories and are transmitted via water and air.

The natural hazards experienced are metrological, geophysical or hydrological. Some of the metrological hazards encountered in my community include extreme summer weather, tornadoes, blizzards, wildfires and hurricanes. Some of the different types of hydrological hazards include storm surges, floods and tsunamis. The geophysical hazards experienced by the community include earthquakes and volcanic eruptions (Sample, 2018).
The technological hazards are predominantly human-induced and are transmitted through water and air. The different kinds of technological hazards include explosives, compressed gases, flammable liquids, Oxidizers and organic peroxides, flammable solids, toxic chemicals, infectious substances, infectious substances, corrosives and Miscellaneous dangerous goods ( Blaikie et al ., 2018) .
Public and Private Sectors within My Community
It is critical for the public and private departments within my community to gain an understanding of how risks and hazards affect them. Natural hazards are grossly affected by the regional balances in the environment. Human-made hazards are not affected by locations. The hazard management managers, therefore, need to gain an understanding of the geographical area. They further need to understand the extent to which these hazards affect the members of that particular community (Sample, 2018). That aids in assisting the public and private sectors in coming up ways of combating industrial gases, and hazardous releases from factories and warehouses. The departments concerned with controlling natural hazards will use such kind of valuable information in designing adequate control mechanisms to avert future damages ( Blaikie et al ., 2018) .
Such kind of understanding can foster partnerships between the two sectors intending to assisting members of this community. Partnerships development is essential for incorporating disaster risk reduction approaches into national and local government, sustainable development, climate change initiatives, and humanitarian response. Partnerships are also instrumental in mainstreaming disaster risk lessening strategies into the policy-making cycle, to enlightening decision-making and updating spending decisions.
The Importance of Assessing the Community’s Vulnerability and Risk
The assessment of population has since been efficiently studied and proved to be effective. A hazard assessment on the community’s vulnerability serves to identify the most likely possible hazards and risks that can interfere with a specific population. Such assessment assists in coming up with findings useful in developing comparisons of hazard vulnerabilities (Sample, 2018). Different regions have separate ways of dealing with disaster. Assessment aids in brainstorming to ascertain the potential man-made or natural disasters that they are most likely to face. Further, it is resourceful in emergency management. The assessments are equally important in preparing for future events and occurrences. Preparation entails designing efficient ways of mitigating the effects of hazards and risks that may occur.

It can be censoriously summarized that hazard and risk management are essential. Different communities experience separate types of hazards. Technological kinds of dangers are on the rise as more industries and warehouses are built. There is, therefore, need to study on efficient ways of managing such exhaust releases.
