I am in agreement with the definition of health as the balance of the person, both in nature and in one’s being (Spector, 2017). Where a person is uncomfortable in any manner, whether physically or because of their surroundings, it is very hard to attain serenity. For instance, when I am uncomfortable in a large gathering, I will be in a state of unease and will experience bodily distresses, such as nervous stomachs and gas. I am unhealthy in such a situation. Similarly, when I am not experiencing a state of health for longer periods, I contract illnesses. For instance, in my family, when a person is having a stressful period, they are spiritually or psychologically unstable, depending on the intensity of the situation. It is at these times that someone finds themselves falling ill, for instance, they have a cold, a running stomach, stomach infections and other diseases that really have no exact footing. I concur with Spector’s definition on both health and illness. They are both linked and where one I not present, the other is.
