Ethical standards are essential for all healthcare professionals. In the medical field, many issues and concerns should be addressed, clarified, and included in the code of ethics for all professional health workers. I think the matter concerning doctor and patient confidentiality should be addressed and clarified. It is illegal for a health practitioner to disclose information about a patient's health. However, withholding this information can be a disadvantage to the patient, especially during insurance claims, raising legal problems. Clarity over this issue and how much information can be disclosed without harming the patient, especially to the insurance agencies, should be established in the code of ethics.

Termination of life for patients in life support or assisted suicide for terminally ill patients is debated in the medical world. A qualified healthcare professional has a role as a healer, and terminating one's life, regardless of their decision or their families' would not be termed an ethical procedure. This concept should be reviewed and stated in the code of ethics that only procedures that benefit the patient should be practiced. The same case applies to the controversial issue of abortion. Despite being illegal in most countries, the procedure is necessary to save the mother's life in some cases. A clause specifying the case procedure is necessary for the code of ethics.

The outbreak of infectious diseases is a common occurrence. Medical practitioners are expected to provide care for the patients, with the risk of contracting the disease through direct or indirect contact. Issuance of protective measures and approach methods for patients with transmittable diseases should be clearly stated in the code of ethics to protect healthcare practitioners from infection while still upholding their ethics. With the current Covid-19 situation, healthcare practitioners should be instructed on how to handle an infected patient, giving them care, while protecting themselves.

Expectant mothers may experience life-threatening such as cancer or placental abruption during their pregnancy. Presented with such a case, as a medical practitioner, I would prioritize the mother's life and conduct a termination procedure. This would save the mother's life. However, therapy sessions should be available for the mother afterward. The code of ethics should provide clear guidelines concerning this issue.
