Home health care facilities, hospitals, hospice programs, and long term care facilities are advantageous because people who receive services such as hospice care incur relatively lower costs of ICU procedures and hospitalizations. Additionally, patients who are in their last year have reduced health care expenditures. Home health care services make it possible for patients to receive health care services in their homes. It makes it easier for ailing patients since they do not have to travel to the hospital. Long term care facilities offer patients a habitat while also them in their daily activities. Furthermore, long term care facilities are financed by insurance health programs such as Medicare and Medicaid. However, there exist limitations to these programs. For example, health insurance programs such as Medicare and Medicaid may not be available to everyone who may require long term care services. Additionally, most home health care and long term care facilities are not well equipped to handle the needs of dying people.

The following statement, prescription drugs come from a doctor and a pharmacy, so they must be safe is a myth because these drugs are personally prescribed by either a doctor or a pharmacist to a particular person due to his or her ailment or medical condition. For this reason, prescription drugs may not be safe if they are taken by another person or overdosed. Additionally, when prescription drugs are used by another person, other than the intended person, they may cause fatal health consequences such as allergic reactions which may lead to death.

The following statement, it’s OK for me to use a prescription from the medicine cabinet that was prescribed for someone else in my family is also a myth because using another person’s prescription medication is drug abuse. It is because medicine is prescribed to a person due to a particular personal health issue. Therefore, medicine prescribed to such a person is supposed to suit his or her health needs. Ultimately, this means that it is dangerous and risky for another person to take someone’s else medicine even if their symptoms are the same because medicine is prescribed according to a particular person’s condition. Using someone else’s prescription medicine is also dangerous and fatal and can cause life threatening conditions such as allergic reactions.
