Homeostasis is the ability of the body to physiologically be able to regulate the inner environment in order to ensure it has stability to respond to fluctuations of outside weather and environment. Therefore, the process enables living things to be able to maintain stable conditions for their ultimate survival.
A classic example of homeostasis outside the human body is how an electric grid functions. The grid has three components that aid its functionality, they include, generating stations, regulating components and its consumption units. The generating stations can either be wind, water, coal or any power station which can produce raw energy. Regulating components of the grid include circuit breakers, switches and any equipment which enables a direct energy flow. Consumption units include businesses and homes who are the typical end users .When consumption units require energy, regulating component gets it from a generating station. There are instances when there is a break in power transmission like a circuit breaker that has blown leading to a disruption in energy supply. In order to compensate for this, regulating component will transmit power to additional lines in accordance to given procedures. By doing this, power is maintained at the tolerance limit.

Homeostasis in the human body can be maintained at various levels. When bacteria that cause illness gets into the body, the lymphatic system comes in, in order to maintain homeostasis levels. The system starts fighting the infection before you become sick thereby ensuring you remain healthy.
Homeostasis also is very essential in maintaining a healthy blood pressure. The heart senses when there are changes in blood pressure, it then sends a signal to the brain, the signal is again sent back informing the heart the way it should respond. If the blood pressure is high, the heart naturally, slows down, and if it’s low, the heart would want to accelerate its speed up.
If toxins get into the blood stream, the body’s homeostasis gets disrupted. The body then reacts by clearing the toxins using urinary system. A person urinates the toxins hence getting rid of any vicious thing that is in the blood, thereby restoring homeostasis.
